Edgy british fashion label Religion are the latest brand to branch out into fragrance. I was intrigued to see what direction the label would go in with their first scent and I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised!
The anaemic-looking, all white bottle and packaging looks somewhat clinical and the angular design and skull adornment is more than reminiscent of Alexander McQueen's signature designs. None the less it's a funky, edgy looking perfume that fits the brand's image perfectly.
As for the scent, I was surprised by how sweet this is. I would describe it as a sugary citrus scent, which has notes of zesty orange and turkish rose. If I had to compare it to anything already out there I would say it's a sharper alternative to fragrances like Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy and Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb... both of which are immensely popular fragrances so I have a feeling that this will be a hit!
To me, it seems like a universally 'likeable' fragrance, and at only £30 for 50ml Eau de Toilette it would make the ideal 'safe' fragrance gift.
Ooh, I'm loving the look of that already!

The only thing putting me off buying it is the bottle! Not loving the skull look, wouldn't look good on my dressing table. Thats important to me. :)

I adore the bottle so much - the design is edgy and definitely something I want sitting on my dresser table so people can admire it too!
ReplyDeleteNot so keen on how you described it as smelling like Juicy Couture or Victor & Rolf though...I adored Flower Bomb initially but the sweetness got to me and gives me a headache now. Wish they came out with a stronger fragrance similar to Alien to match the bottle design.
Still, won't say no to a sniff of this myself when I'm shopping!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love the packaging. I have a thing for skulls, haha. My headphones for my iPod are from Skullcandy & have the little skulls imprinted on the buds.. :-)
ReplyDeleteSince I am Stateside and we don't have Boots the way you do, I would love to see if Sephora would pick up this fragrance so I could get a chance to smell it...
oohh laa laa.. the aesthetics of the bottle sums me up! although how i can express myself via clothing is a little hard (expense wise) =/ oh well... i must check this out!! x
