Michael Mercier Detangling Brush

This little tool has been a total godsend to me over the past few weeks. I have seriously tangly hair. In part due to the fact that I subject my hair to bleach and too much heat styling, but also due to the fact that I'm a bit of a scarf obsessive (and they frequently leave me with a nice cat-knot at the back of my neck!)
It's the Detangling Brush from Michael Mercier, and is clearly his answer to the Tangle Teezer. In my opinion it's much better than the (quickly becoming cult) Tangle Teezer.

It comes in three variants for specific hair types: fine, normal and afro.
I have the one for normal hair, and the bristles are little harder than my Tangle Teezer. This means that although it is a little rougher than it's counter type, but it gets the job done even faster. This little beauty brushes through my hair in a matter of seconds, with minimal breakage.
While it doesn't look as cute as the Tangle Teezer, the funny looking handle is actually really, well, handy! And stop it slipping out of your hand whilst brushing (a problem I had a few times with the Teezer)
You can pick up Michael Mercier brushes from beauique.com for £14.95.

  4. I swear by the Tangle Teezer, but I do find the handle a little less conventional. I like the fact that this one has a proper handle. Need to look into getting one of these!

  8. I love my tangle teezer, it has literally been a god send to me, but this looks really interesting, the handle looks like it would be easier to keep hold of compared to the tangle teezer too! x

  15. Fleur, I used to have very, very thick natural curly hair!! But, as I have gotten older & have 2 children, my hair has thinned somewhat, but still is a tangled mess & tons of breakage when I get out of shower even using extra cream rinse & leave in conditioner!! Do you think this brush would help & is it worth the $?? I've tried so many brushes & combs for my kind of hair & tired of wasting $ that hair professionals suggested?!!!??!!!! Thanks in advance for your advice!!! Tired of losing my hair!!!! :(

    1. I would recommend getting a leave in conditioner like unite 7 seconds, and one of these brushes (or a tangle teezer if you can't get one of these) both of those will really help to reduce breakage :)

  16. I have been using this for a few months now and love it. I use it everyday and it makes taking out tangles so much quicker. Would definitely recommend :)

  26. My hair gets tangled sometimes but I don't want to use a normal brush because my hair gets frizzy. I'll be finding some more stuff first before I buy one though so the international shipping isn't as big in comparison :)

  37. Its funny, I was looking at the tangle teezer this week and thought 'I wont get it until they bring one out with a handle' - now this! However, that thing is so chunky, it just looks awkward and not handy to throw in the bag - soooooo, 'I wont get it until they bring out a slimline one with a handle!'. Thanks for the review though!

  63. Their warehouse is located inMassachusetts so it should take them no more than 5 business days for you to receive the items no matter where u live in the US but as it stands now the brushes won't even leave their warehouse for at least 3 weeks after u place your order. When I placed the order I paid for rush shipping thinking that I would receive the brushes within the week being that they charged me over $31.00 just in shipping charges. I tried calling their customer service number 1800-338-3394 and while I listened to elevador music and " your call is impportant to us, thank you for your patience and continue to call blah blah blah" over and over for over 40 minutes ( I have a timer on my cell phone, so I left it on speaker and did the dishes and vaccumed my room and after 40 min they still had not picked it up so I hung up and went to their web site to try to email them. It turns out that the address they say is " the best way to contact customer service" www.customerstatus.com is not an email address but a place to check your order status and if there is a ploblem with your order good luck trying to talk to them on the phone once they have already taken your money. There was no email address to contact customer service. By the way, once you fill out your order with your name, address and credit card info they sell your private info to third parties. Within 2 days I placed my order with them I got telemarketers who told me they got my info from Michel Mercier's website. When I was able to talk to someone at Michel Mercier I asked the customer serviice rep ( Steve ) about the telemarketers and he said: "They did not get the information from us." So I told him they had told me that they did, so then Steve said: " They grabbed it from our website", and so I asked him: Are you telling me you have an unsecured website? to that he said: "We use a third party who is unsecure". I got pissed and asked how he is not embarressed to state that so bluntly like it's nothing and he didnt have anything else to say. I told him I would be posting reviews about them online and that I couldn't believe they were still in business nd that I would never order from them again and I hung up. Please don't order from this company. If you want a no tangle brush order the Macademia Oil one.
