Swatched: Kate Moss’ Lipstick Collection for Rimmel

The brand new Rimmel Lipstick Collection by Kate Moss has been causing quite a stir online over the last few weeks. Today I finally got the chance to swatch the shades in person and thought you might like to see?!

If you haven’t caught a glimpse of the collection yet… feast your eyes!

The seven shades have been hand chosen by Kate herself and in my opinion, are the perfect shades to cover you for every eventuality.

You’ve got three play-it-safe daytime shades: a perfect not-too-pale nude (3) , a more mauvey, rose-nude (8) and a brighter, medium pink (5). Then you’ve got a classic red (1), a coral red (12) and a bright fuchsia pink (2) for a more daring look. Finally (for the most daring amongst us!) a deep gothic plum-purple shade (4)… gorgeous!

As with all Rimmel lipsticks, they smell delicious and fruity. The formulation is creamy and very nicely  pigmented, leaving a pretty satin finish to the lips. The wear isn’t amazing, but about average for comparable products. The packaging is sleek, matte black emblazoned with Kate Moss’s signature and a little hand drawn heart.

My must have shades from the collection would be 3 (the nude), 8 (the mauve nude) and 2 (the fuschia).

Overall, I’m really blown away by this collection. I’ve always loved the formulation of Rimmel’s lipsticks but have been disappointed with the shade selection, but there isn’t a single ‘bad colour’ here, which is very unusual amongst high street collections… Kate chose well!

The Kate Moss lipstick collection will be available from Boots stores nationwide today, and all other stockists from 28th September, priced at £5.49
