Spa-Worthy Treatment For Your Hair... From Pantene?!

An old classic, but often overlooked. Pantene Pro-V is a brand that you will all know, and no doubt have tried at some point in your life. If you haven't tried the brand in a while you may want to think again as they are making waves in the hair world at the moment... (no pun intended!)

Pantene were so confident that their bestselling Smooth & Sleek collection could compete with high end brands that they put it to the test in a (very technically measured!) smoothness test against a £60 spa treatment, and there was absolutely no difference in the results!
The spa where the testing was carried out, Stoke Park Spa in Buckinghamshire, were so impressed with the results that they've become the first ever luxury spa to actively endorse and recommend Pantene products... impressive, no?!

I put the products to the test this week in my everyday haircare routine and I have to say I was really impressed!

Before
(rough-dryed using other shampoo & conditioner. No straightening or serums.)

After
(rough-dryed using the Pantene Smooth & Sleek Shampoo, Conditioner and 24 Hour Frizz Fighter leave-in conditioner, no straightening or serums)

Pantene often get a bad rep for using silicones, but if they deliver the results then this really doesn't bother me. The silicone debate is so over-hyped and hotly debated, I'm making it my mission to do a little more research on this... watch out for more info soon!

The Pantene Smooth & Sleek line is available from most supermarkets and pharmacists, from £2.19. I'll definitely be giving more Pantene products a try in the future, I've been really impressed with the results from the Smooth & Sleek collection.

  3. I have all three products you used and i think they are brilliant, I dont know why people get so touchy over silicones considering most people dont actually know what they do!

  4. Wowee wowee wow wow, that's kind of amazing. Pantene are the first company that I can actually believe when they make promises about what their products will do. I even read this allowed to my mom (who has a shaved head) because I was so astounded by this.

Pantene is a guilty pleasure of mine... my bestfriend is a hair dresser and if she sees it in my bathroom she does half moan at me, so i have to hide it!!

But like you said i dont care as long as my hair looks good and it doesnt damage it lol!!

Also love the smell of pantene!!

  14. Silicone is actually good for your hair apparently! My friend is a hair dresser and she says the only downside is if u wanna dye your hair (especially a light colour) it can't penetrate properly and you won't get as bright a colour :-( This product looks amazing! Definitely another product to add to my shopping list.

  17. My hair dresser told me Pantene is probably the worst drugstore shampoo/conditioner for your hair. She says the reason it makes your hair feel so nice is because it's full of wax!! I stopped using it after that!!

  18. I like pantene products too!!

  20. The silcone in these products strips your hair and thats why it creates a sleek and shiny affect. After time products such as pantene weaken your hair, often increasing split ends and making hair brittle. These products are better at cleaning your kitchen floor, and having that many strong chemicals in your shampoo is not a good thing

  22. I've a bad relationship with Pantene. I used it in in my mid teens and found that it really dried out and irritated my scalp. That being said I think I might risk it and go back and try this product! :) I think this is something that I could definitely add to my haircare routine.

  24. Wow that is a big difference! You can definitely tell between the two picture. It looks like a good product, but sadly my hair is shiny and straight enough by itself. (sadly because I'd rather have wavy hair like most naturally straight haired people!)

  26. I won a 75ml shampoo and conditioner in a competition on Twitter but I have coloured hair so I'm keen to try it, but not sure if it's going to strip or dull the colour. Anyone using it with coloured hair?

  30. Pantene Gets A Bad Name For Using Silicone In Their Products Because It Damages Your Hair And If You Like To Colour Your Hair It Can Prevent You From Colouring The Stays Because The More Times You Use It The Layer After Layer Of Silicone That Is On Your Hair And The Colour Chemicals Can't Penetrate It To Get On And Into The Harfshart.
