Nail of the Day: Chanel Peridot

As much requested on my latest YouTube Video... Here are a few pics of the much-talked-about Chanel Peridot up close and personal.

As you can see, the colour shows up slightly differently on the nails than it does in the bottle.

Disappointingly, there isn't the hint of blue you expect from looking at the bottle, but it's still a stunning colour. It reminds me of peacock feathers. Very unique.

As with other Chanel polishes I've tried, the formulation is quite thin. The application is very nice and it's opaque in two coats. The wear (without topcoat) is pretty average. I'd say about two days without chipping, but add a good topcoat and I'd say you're good for 4+ days depending on how you treat your nails.

What do you reckon girls? Worth the hype?

Chanel Le Vernis in Peridot is available now, online and at counters, but it's selling out fast!£17.50

  4. I really like this colour but I would have prefered if it had the blue tinge that shows in the bottle :)

  10. I like the shade but am disappointed in comparison to how it looks in the bottle. Much more gold than it looks in the bottle. Was hoping it would be like petrol the dark colour, with then a hint of the gold etc in the shade.

But worth the price i dont think so.
Each to there own but i couldnt justify spending that much on a nail polish!

  12. I am a little disapointed that the blue didn`t show up so i am not sure if i would spend my cash on it, I much rather have the cream eyeshadows that came out with this collection

  13. It's still pretty, but I'm a little bit disappointed. It looks much better in the bottle I think...

  14. it's gorgeous! not quit up my alley, but i'd still get it for how dimensional it is. even if it's only going to be worn every once in a while. the polishes are quite pricey, but worth it in quality :)

  15. Not really my thing but it is a nice shade, unfortunately looks nicer in the bottle though!

  16. I really don't like this but that's because I'm not a fan of anything shimmery. I'm not sure why it's being hyped most out of the three though :/ xx

  17. I actually really like this color and was thinking about getting a butter london color sort of like it. Do you think chanel polishes are worth the money?

  21. Love it, but don't think I'm gonna be able to stretch my budget to £17.50 for a nail polish :'( Do you know if there's a cheaper alternative?

  26. It's pretty but I can't justify spending nearly £20.00 on a nail polish. I'd be interested if anyone knows of a cheap dupe.

  28. Very pretty! I went to the Chanel counter yesterday to have a look at the three polishes, and ended up getting Graphite. Peridot is no doubt a pretty and unique shade, but I don't know if it's really "me". It looks fantastic on you!

  30. I have a colour that looks pretty similar to that, so I don't think I'll splurge on the Chanel this time.

  31. Very nice colour, but if it's not that opaque and chips after 2 days, I don't think it's worth the money...

  32. I already baught the Chanel Graphite ... but I do think i need the Peridot as well. It looks so gorgeous on your nails :)

  33. Shame that nothing of the blue comes up on the nails. Even a hint would make it so much more gorg :)

  34. Such a pretty colour but it is a bit disappointing that the blue doesn't really show through. :)

  35. It's a really nice color but if you don't want to splurge just get the Sally Hanson knock off. It is called "Bronze Ablaze" in her Insta Dry collection.

I bought a Wet'n Wild duo chrome polish called Grey's Anatomy, it has a purple and green tint, and the base color is grey-ish silver. I bought mine in California, US. I think you'd like this nail polish a lot!

  40. It is interesting, but anything with the gold in it is bad with my skintone. WAAAY overpriced! And it chips?? Stop supporting them, girls.

  41. Its a nice colour, shame the blue doesn't show up on the nails though.

  42. I've just been on the Butter London website and found a really good match to the Chanel Peridot. It's called "Wallis" and can be found here; http://www.butterlondon.com/lacquers/choose

  43. Love the color but I've found with all my Chanel polishes that they chip really easily, and never last for more than a couple of days. Somewhat hesitant to buy another one, especially since I started using Illamasqua and Butter London polishes, which seem to go on for ages.

  44. I was at a Chanel counter the other day and I couldn't stop staring at Peridot! It's so so beautiful but I wouldn't let myself buy it because I knew it wouldn't transfer that way. BUT now that I've seen this.....I may end up back at the counter starring at it again!!! And this time I'm not sure I will be able to stop myself >.<
