Wonderstruck: Taylor Swift's Fragrance Debut!

As a huge Taylor Swift fan myself, I first heard the she was to release a fragrance when I was handed a flyer on my way out of her concert at the O2 way back in March, and as a beauty and fragrance fanatic, I was excited to see what she would put her name too.

I may be a little late on the uptake here, as I believe the first photos of Taylor Swift's perfume debut were released a few weeks back... But I've only just seen them so I'm sure there are a few of you out there who will be excited (or disappointed as the case may be...) by the following photo:
I have to say I'm not as big a fan as I thought I would be. For some reason the bottle looks a little dated and slightly tacky?! I love the charm detail, but something about it doesn't look quite right... It could be the mixed-font logo or the gold and blue combo, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Having said that... she could still pull it back with the fragrance itself and the description sounds good to me:

'The flawless beauty of freesia, apple blossom and raspberry spark a swirl of vibrancy and feminine allure. In the heart, a sweet surprise of blissful vanilla is embellished by airy, sun drenched honeysuckle and white hibiscus. Notes of golden amber and sandalwood are woven with a kiss of lush peach'

As for the name? Any hardcore Taylor fan will recognise it from her song 'Enchanted', which was penned for Owl City's Adam Young, and I like it. Somewhat magical, don't you think?!

I really can't wait to try this when it comes out in October... will any of you be keeping an eye out for this too?

  5. im excited! i agree, the purple/blue makes it look tacky, i think an opaque white bottle would have worked better with the gold lettering and more suited to the 'taylor swift' style. thanks for sharing!

  8. I reckon its the lid that makes it look weird, i thought she would go for say a butterfly or something on top, but the lid is just so boring, weird weird! itll be interesting to see what it smells like though! cant wait! :) x

  10. I don't really like the bottle, it does look a bit tacky and 'Britney-esque' but if the perfume smells lovely that's the main thing! I love Taylor so fingers crossed its nice xxx

  12. i like the flacon, but i don't think, it matches taylor very well... it looks kind of oriental, but she's a country girl, so this is not how i imagine a fragrance of taylor...

  14. I'm a fan of her music too but I won't buy the fragrance because there are too many perfumes by celebrities. The bottle reminds me of a medieval armour. nothing original

  15. Ahh it looks like a genies bottle or something, I love it! The charm detailing is so lovely, I can't wait to try it!

  16. Hmm I think it should have been a deep maroon/violety coloured bottle, would suit the gold better. It does look a bit tacky :-( She should have made it a nice pastel pink and rose gold or silver lid to suit her own style more. I don't think this bottle reflects this :-( Can't wait to smell it though! Can't judge a perfume by its bottle :-)

  17. I love Taylor Swift yet i am shocked at the bottle, especially for her I thought she might have gone for something a little bit more whimsical and interesting, this bottle looks like something of the tacky ones Britney produces, but can't wait to smell it, it sounds lovely!. And the name is awesome :).

  18. yes i thaught the packaging would be a little bit more pretty and taylor-ey if that makes any sense haha xx

  19. Description sounds really good. Name is just great.

I think what's wrong is really the bottle cap but cannot think of a better replacement for it. Hmm.

Can't wait for it though, will definitely be on a look out for that.

  24. i like the charm detailing also. although i love gold, i don't like the busy texture of the cap or the lettering on the bottle. it isn't horrible, though. the scent description sounds amazing and i can't imagine it to be unpleasant as it's made from taylor swift. at least i hope not!

  25. Taylor could have done so much better with the packaging, but I'm sure it will be very girly and floral smelling! Anyone know the exact day it comes out in October? I'm going to her concert in October, and I'd feel so festive if I wore it there! :)

  26. Yes I agree with the packaging, it reminds me of the britney spears purfume bottles. I am still interested to go and give this a sniff when it comes out though!

  27. OH, I can't wait for this to come out. I'm still searching for the right perfume though. Any suggestions? I really love the Vera Wang Princess perfume, but I need to try something new!

  28. @Mikaela Have you tried vera wang lovestruck?! I think if you like princess you'll love that one too - it smells gorgeous! x

  30. The bottle is rather ugly but I like the cap detail and the charm. I'd still give this a sniff to see if I liked it, it sounds pretty but not so much of a scent for Winter time. Would've been better for a Summer fragrance but still. No offense to Taylor if she loves the bottle I just don't like it but it's not a complete turn-off.

  32. I remember getting the flyer at her concert and I was absolutely ecstatic! (I'm quite the die-hard fan) The bottle could've been a lot prettier though...but all in all I'm sure it will be a good fragrance. Taylor never fails to impress with her music so hopefully the same will go for her fragrance! Loved this post Fleur <3

  33. I like the bottle tbh haha! =) xoxo

  34. I just saw her in concert and she was AMAZING!! I myself usually stick to not buying celebrity backed fragrances because I find them to be horrible smelling, or lack lasting power, but I will be trying this out. I love taylor swift and it does sound like it would smell nice. I love scents with vanilla and/or raspberry so I hope I love this!

  35. I actually like the bottle to be honest, it kind of has that fairy tale feel for me. Not too sure why! But can't wait for this to come out, the description sounds lovely. xx

  36. I was at a fragrance launch training thingy for my job today and they let us check out Taylor's fragrance. The bottle doesn't photograph well to be honest, but in person it's much less tacky. The bottle is a bit less opaque when you actually see it, I find. In the photos it kind of reminds me of the Jessica Simpson fragrance bottles which I don't like since they're generally opaque.

As for the scent, I absolutely loved it and I'm fairly indifferent towards Taylor herself so that was no influence. It's really wearable, not too strong, and more complex (in a good way) than you might expect. So definitely look into it ^_^

  37. This perfume is on my wishlist last year and now I own too today because I really like the smell. :)
