The Shimmering Chanel Dupe!

Check out this near-perfect dupe for Chanel’s beautiful Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadow in Mirifique! It’s New Cid’s i-colour in Zinc and you can pick it up for significantly less than it’s Chanel counterpart (£14 vs £22.50!)
With the exception of Chanel’s beautiful packaging, they are virtually identical. If anything I’d say the New Cid alternative has a slightly better texture (you can see in the picture, the Chanel one tends to go on a little thicker!)
Left: New Cid, Right: Chanel
Both are the perfect choice for creating the most beautiful, shimmery smokey eye out there. They have a gorgeous heavy mousse texture (I'm not normally a fan of mousse-type products except when edible, but these are truly lovely!)
If you do invest in either of these beauties however, be warned! You need a good primer to ensure you don’t end up with glitter all over you cheeks at the end of the night!

  1. I love the look of these, they're so shimmery and pretty. Unfortunately I don't think I can justify spending even £14 on it :(

  15. Stilas jewel eyeshadows are very similar, they just aren't a mousse texture. I did some swatches here

  18. That is a great dupe, but I can't imagine myself ever wearing something so dark; it's a little too drag queen 'fabulous' for me, Chanel (ho ho ho, translation pun) (sort of)... I, too, am more of an edible-over-wearable-type-mousse girl, but there's so much hype surrounding New Cid (whose name I will never confidently be able to pronounce) that I might have to buy one of these in a slightly less dramatic shade, especially if the texture's as nice as you say!

  19. They're both really nice but I think I still prefer the Chanel, it's more glittery and shiny.

  32. They're both very pretty, I'd looked at the Chanel one a couple of weeks a go and had been tempted! However £14 still seems like quite a lot, so I might just splash out on the Chanel one!

  39. wow that looks almost identical! I love New CID makeup especially the i-glow the colours are amazing! I got mine from Hairtrade as it seems to be the cheapest place at the moment.

  40. I have the Chanel one... since I really only splurge on Chanel products when they're limited edition, such as the ombre, I feel the purchase is justified! LOL
