YSL Touche Éclat Foundation: First Look!

If you follow me on twitter, you may have seen that yesterday I was whisked off to Paris for the day with YSL for the exclusive international preview of their highly anticipated Le Teint Touche Éclat, a foundation version of their cult Touche Éclat highlighter pen.

Touche Éclat has been the world's number one best selling concealer product for years now. If you're a beauty fanatic then I'm sure you've owned at least one (or one hundred?!) during your lifetime.

This year the original Touche Éclat celebrates it's 20th birthday and YSL have finally perfected the formulation of their highly anticipated foundation. I know I'm not alone in thinking... FINALLY! This is without a doubt one of the most exciting launches of the year for the beauty world (rumour has it that this foundation has been 10 YEARS in the making!)

I thought I'd give you all a little sneak-peak before I film a full video review for you all next week.

So here you are girls... feast your eyes on Le Teint Touche Éclat!

A little more info for you:

  • 22 Shades. Creative Director of YSL Makeup, Lloyd Simmons, developed the extensive shade range to include all skin tones. The shades are arranged into warm (Beige Dore), cool (Beige Rose) and neutral (Beige) and range from the palest rose complexions to the deepest golden skins.
  • The glass bottle has YSL's signature golden cap, and pump (no un-washable brushes here... horaay!)

  • Contains no opaque powders, so claims to avoid a 'masked' effect.
  • YSL have replaced these powders with a 'soft focus gel' which claims to smooth away imperfections without masking the skin.
  • Claims to have a 'weightless' texture.
  • UK release date: 9th July 2012 International release dates vary but I believe the US release date will be in August.
  • Will retail for £28 in the UK, $55 in the United States or 42.60.
As I said above, I'm going to be doing a full review of this foundation once I've had the opportunity to try it for a longer period of time, but my first impressions are rather wonderful...
What do you think girls? Are you excited to try this product?

  3. The touche eclat foundation is pretty much the only beauty thing I've been really REALLY excited about this year.
You look very radiant so maybe this will live up to all the hype - I just hope it doesn't make my very pale skin too shiny though.
Their colour range is fab too.

  9. Does this have a smell? I tend to hate the strong mango smell in lots of YSL products, as it gives me migraines :( Hopefully they will have skipped the fragrance in this foundation!

  10. Very intruiging indeed! The fact that it doesn't contain powders makes me think it'll be very sheer but luminous.

  18. This is so exciting! Really looking forward to your review, too. I'm pleasantly surprised by the price; considering it's YSL, I was expecting it to be much, much higher. Maybe this is something I'll actually be able to afford! Eee!

  21. this is so exciting. i'm not a massive fan of the concealer because i don't feel like it gives quite enough coverage but i hate anything heavy on my face. www.amyknowsbestik.blogspot.co.uk

  23. I can't wait for it to be launched in the UK! It definetly wouldn't be part of my day-to-day makeup routine, but more of a luxurious product that i would wear for important events. £28 for a foundation is a real splurge, and not a price that my student wallet would be able to afford on a regular basis!

  41. I'm excited to try this, you look beautiful as always but this shade looks a bit too pink on you, maybe the lighting? I always find YSL and Chanel to be not yellow enough unlike their Bobbi Brown and Nars counterparts. I expect the formulation is a dream though, as a fan of the old disgusting brush version! Look forward to a more in depth review xx

  50. Im SO exited you wouldnt beleive!! Please tell me how it compares to your beloved vitalumiere aqua, or even just the vitalimiere, the aqua's to matt for me as I like the dewey look but I have an oily t zone so the vitalumiere slides off my face by the afternoon, please say this answers my prayers!

  55. Ooooh exciting! I'm not normally thrilled by product launches but a) this is huge and b) is genuinely quite interesting. I wonder if they've left it so long just for the hype?
And this has reminded me, I've not had touche eclat for a while... a double splurge may be in order!
