Review: Charles Worthington Instant Volume Treatment

I've absolutely loved a couple of the products from Charles Worthington's Salon at home line, so I was excited to see they have expanded the collection recently to include this Instant Amplifying Volume Treatment. I thought I would give it a whirl.
The consistency is very strange for a treatment; it's a thick gel, so doesn't feel particularly luxurious when you're using it, but like other products in this line it smells amazing. Seriously it smells so good you could eat it.
This left my hair feeling surprisingly moisturised after rinsing it out, (I used it in place of a conditioner) and my hair felt nice and soft after blow drying. It didn't however, noticeably add any volume to my hair. I've tried this a couple of times, drying my hair normally, upside-down etc and it just doesn't seem to add any extra volume. So it's a bit of a failure really... A nice product, but it doesn't really do what it says on the tube.
I do have quite 'heavy' hair so this may be more effective on those with finer locks, but for me, this just didn't perform.

If you fancy giving this treatment a whirl, you can pick it up from Boots now, for £14.99. Though I would definitely recommend picking up the Melting Rescue Balm instead...

  4. I gave Charles Worthington so many chances but their products always let me down :-(

I would seriously recommend Toni&Guy hair products. I use the shampoo, conditioner, detox shampoo and my hair has never been in better condition, and I've tried A LOT of hair products. I'm going to do a review of them in the next few days :)

  5. Ah shame it didn't do a thing! I'd love to use a volumizing treatment because my hair can use one, but when I try a normal treatment it makes my hair go very heavy for some reason :s strange! xx

  7. I love the Charles Worthington Salon at Home Secrets Collection Moisture Seal Intense Rescue Melting Balm for my dry hair. But I wouldn't spend my money on a volumizing treatment.

  12. So glad I read this - I was thinking of trying it because I have ridiculously fine hair and thought this could be a miracle product, but don't think I'll waste my £15. I'm always really disappointed by volumising products - lots of them don't work and the ones that do tend to leave my hair greasy. I find mousse seems to work the best for me.

  17. I love Charles Worthington products, but what a shame you didn't have a good experience with this one! I have quite fine hair so maybe it would be more effective but I don't think I'll chance it for £14.99! Fab review, love how you're always so honest!

  19. my auntie who works in hair really recommends these products to me, but she does say that they only really perform if your hair has the ability to be volumised, if you know what I mean? So as you say, it is probably because of the thickness of your hair.
