Review: Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer

I bought this concealer a few weeks back upon the recommendation of the gorgeous Estée from EssieButton. Although I'm still madly in love with both my Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer and my Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch, I loved the foundation from this line and wanted to see what the concealer was like.
I really like the packaging design. It comes in a dinky little tube that is compact, and has a convenient and hygienic applicator.

The consistency of the product is akin to a very thick foundation, and so is the coverage. While this is labelled as a 'radiance and anti-fatigue' concealer, provides a medium coverage and a nice brightening effect under the eyes, it isn't overly 'highlighting' or at all shimmery.
It feels a little powdery after blending, which makes me think that this may not suit dry skins as much as normal-oily, but the staying power is really good, with just one or two touch ups needed throughout the day.

Like a lot of Bourjois products, it is quite heavily scented so might irritate more sensitive skins, but i personally haven't had an issue with it. I bought this in shade 53 and it's a pretty good match for my skin colour. Although you could use this on smaller blemishes, it is more suited to the eye area and I still tend to use another (higher coverage) concealer on spots.
Overall, this is a lovely little product that I will use up and enjoy. I might purchase it again, I might not... It's not on my 'must have' list, but it's got a solid (and thoroughly deserved) spot in my everyday makeup bag!

You can buy Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer from Boots & Superdrug for £7.99, but it's currently on offer on the Boots website.

  1. I just bought this yesterday and today is the first day I worn it, and i have to say I love it- I definitely prefer it to the Collection 2000 concealer, probably because I have more normal-oily skin :)

  4. I think nothing ever beats high-end Concealers! I have three, all of which are the best I've ever had an are high-end. Although I haven't tried the collection 2000 one yet, I think I should with the hype surrounding it.

  10. I am selling the foundation from this range in a shade 53 if you wanted to try that as well! It is a shade too dark for me, I always find it so difficult in boots to get the right shade because they have such orangey lighting! xxx

  12. I buy this concealer repeatedly although interestingly didn't get on with the foundation at all,(slid off). But this concealer is just right - I find it works better on top of my foundation rather than underneath it. Great coverage and no bad reactions with my skin - slightly expensive for a drugstore concealer but lasts ages.

  21. I've never tried this foundation, but I actually might! I think I'll have to try the Collection 2000 one first though, as I haven't tried that either, and I've heard so much about it! I have normal to dry skin, so that might be more suitable for me.. Great review! :)

  26. Im not a fan, the packaging makes it hard to squeeze out the right amount. The shade range is abysmal their isnt a dark enough shade for me and im only medium dark so it makes me ashy. I have dry skin and it makes my under eyes really dry. I love the foundation although the shade range is poor again, come summer I have to mix it with my illamasqua skinbase.

  27. I bought this too, and I have dry skin - no problems as of yet. I've also got dead sensitive skin, and I don't find it to be irritating at all. I love my collection 2000 too, but I keep that for more 'serious' blemishes. :)
