I'm sorry for the lack of activity on the blog this week guys. If you don't follow me on Twitter or YouTube, you might not know that my little dog Woof passed away last weekend, so I took a little time off, but I'm back this week with lots of gorgeous new beauty bits to share with you! A massive thanks to those of you who sent me a lovely message via Twitter, YouTube or email. Your support means the world to me.
Anyway... back to the products in question...
I picked up a couple of these Wet n' Wild Mega Last lipsticks in New York last week on the recommendation of my friend Tati from GlamLifeGuru.
I snapped up two different shades: Just Peachy (903C) and Cherry Picking (965). The first was again a recommendation from Tati, but the second I just couldn't resist as this type of red-pink shade is my ultimate favourite type of colour when it comes to brights.
Sadly, we don't have Wet n' Wild in the UK, but these products are super cheap, coming in at $1.99 each (Around £1.25!) For this price, I was astounded by the performance of the products. The formulation is quite thick, highly pigmented, and ever so slightly dry. If you suffer from dry lips, these products might not be for you as they can be a little drying, but for me, the texture of the lipstick helped the colour to stay on for hours. I would recommend popping a balm on before you apply, or a little gloss over the top, and these lipsticks will last you all day with just a few top-ups o keep the colour even.
The packaging isn't out-of-this-world, but for $2 you wouldn't expect it to be. The only downside I discovered to these lipsticks was the shape of the bullet. Because they are flat-topped lipsticks, they can be a little tricky to apply straight out of the tube, so if you want a perfect bright lip, I would definitely recommend using a lip brush with these.
Overall, I was utterly impressed with these and I'll definitely be checking out more shades when I'm next in the US.
Have any of you tried Wet n' Wild products? What are your favourites from the brand?
Aww Fleur, So sorry to hear about woof :( The lipsticks look beautiful! xxx

My heart goes out to you for your loss. But on the subject of Wet n Wild their eyeshadows and nail polishes are great. Some shadows of course are hit and miss but overall I think it's one of the top drugstore brands for shadows. Their nail polishes the megalast ones have the wide brush and stay on a good amount of time w/out chipping.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your doggy xx
ReplyDeleteI need some of these me thinks. Awesome price! <3

prettylittledoodahs.blogspot.co.uk
These colors look awesome.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried these lipsticks but I guess I got to give them a try next time I'm in the US.
I have a wet n wild lipgloss that I love. It's the Mega Slicks Lipgloss in Cotton Candy. It looks like a darker pink in the tube but it is clear on my lips which is totaly fine. I love to top it over any lipstick for a glossy shine. The best part of it is, that it is not sticky at all [I can't stand sticky lip glosses]. It has a bit of a minty flavor/scent to it. I love it.
The Color Icon Shadows are pretty great as well. I have the Eyeshadow Trio in Walking on Eggshell and the Eyeshadow Collection in Comfort Zone. Better than expected for the price range.
Fleur, my thoughts with you and mike at this tough time <3 :( I really wish they sold these overseas! *sigh
ReplyDeletewow those colors are gorgeous! I'm definitely gonna try these out!

So sorry to read about your doggy loss.
ReplyDeleteFound you via bloglovin' but know of you via Sprinkle of Glitter.
My partner is coming back from the States tomorrow and has bought me all kinds of goodies; but I haven't tried these. Yet! The colour pigment looks very good.
Z xx
I have a bunch of Wet'n Wild color icon eyeshadows (the trios and the 8-pan palettes). They're the only drugstore eyeshadows that I like outside of the L'Oreal infallible pressed pigment shadows. Impressive, considering the cost. I find them easy to work with, highly pigmented, and blendable.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite lipstick formulation from Wet'n Wild is the silk finish ($1 each), although I only own a few because most of the colors are frosted (and I'm not in to that). I have several of the mega last lispticks, but I have to put balm underneath and work them into my lips with my finger to get the look I want. They do last, and there are some great colors in the line.
the peachy nude is gorgeous, reminds me of MAC cremesheen d'nude, but £13 less! thank god for ebayyyyy
ReplyDeleteMake-up with Martha x
Wow they're incredible!!! So cheap for such gorgeous lipsticks.. love love love xx

ReplyDeleteI completely agree about applying the lipsticks with a lip brush -- it is much smoother. I really like the shade 908C as a MAC Rebel dupe.

ReplyDeleteP.S. It's been a long time since I tried a lip product by Wet N Wild because I'm not usually drawn to the brand (have had a few disappointments with the nail polishes and such) but I'd be open to trying this lipstick since I trust your opinion and it's such a great price :)
