£15 face wipes. Not something I thought I would ever be persuaded to purchase, or believe were worth the money. Until Now. Enter the Ole Henriksen 'Truth to Go' wipes.
My friend Becky has raved about these for ages, and when I was given some at an event a few months back, I knew I had to try them. At first I wasn't so sure. They are scented pretty strongly of oranges and I wasn't 100% sold on that initially, but after about a week I totally fell in love with these.
I've always been a fan of a sneaky face wipe here and there. I'm awful at falling asleep on the sofa, walking upstairs like a zombie and falling into bed. At that point, face wipes seem like the perfect compromise between washing my face and falling into bed with my makeup on.
With that being said, these remove makeup like no other wipes I've tried, they don't drag on your skin, they don't dry out due to the double closure packaging, and best of all? They are actually pretty good on the ingredient list too! Compared to other wipes, my skin actually feels nourished after using them. Not greasy, not dry... just right. I know there are probably skin care know-it-alls out there who will still argue that I shouldn't be using these, but I've come to realise that my skin seems to love these, to the point where I notice how much better it looks when I'm using them. I went back to using my previous favourites from Soap & Glory and really disliked them in comparison. I never thought I would say it, but I'm totally sold on £15 face wipes. Oh dear...
If you feel like trying these, to soften the blow they are currently 10% off in the feel unique sale (with free international delivery) Or if you are based in the US, they are about a third cheaper (I've started stocking up on these when I go over there!)
Definitely going to be picking this up in the sale! Sounds amazing. I hate dry face wipes so this sounds right up my street!
ReplyDeletehttp://talisatalksbeauty.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/wetnwild-cherry-picking-695.html
These sound great, but being a poor student I could never justify spending £15 on them! haha :)
ReplyDeletewww.charlotterose8.blogspot.com
I still think they're crazy expensive for make up wipes. Maybe if I was given them so I could be converted....but I don't think I could justify spending that much.
ReplyDeleteDee x
hiya Fleur can you please read my blog I am new on here I review products that I have tried and give my opinion and first impression of them.
ReplyDeletehttp://beautyliesineverybody.blogspot.co.uk/
As much as I hate the thought of using a face wipe on my skin, these sound like a good choice for someone who like you say wants to bridge that gap between falling asleep on the sofa and heading upstairs to bed without the thought of cleansing. Although £15 seems a bit crazy for wipes when you break it down that's only 50p a wipe, advertising and packaging and ingredients considered at least you know you're putting something well put together on your face. I wouldn't buy them personally but this was quite useful if I ever in the future feel the urge to get a sneaky pack of wipes for those can't be bothered to even micellar moments ;)
ReplyDeleteHow do these feel on your skin after you have used them? I know you said your skin feels nourished but do they irritate your eye area at all? I have had no luck with every kind of wipe that I try because they ALL irritate my eyes if they get too close ( I am not using them to take my eye makeup off) and I totally trust your opinion so if they do not irritate your eyes at all I am going to try them! Great post!
ReplyDeletehttp://beautyandcoupons.blogspot.com/
In my opnion, Ole Henriksen is a brand that doesn't get enough attention but it does some great products. Admittedly they are a little bit more pricey than some other brands, but they are sooo lovely to use - I thoroughly recommend the Truth range for intense hydration! Xx
ReplyDeletehttp://makeupbycandlelight.blogspot.co.uk/
not a fan of orange scents but i would like to try these :)
ReplyDeletehttp://louiselovesbeauty.blogspot.co.uk/
These sound amazing just a shame they are so pricey!
ReplyDeleteJamie-Lee | Glitter Infatuation | Beauty & Lifestyle Blog!
I bought this when I had to fly last month. It's definitely as good as you said it was! Haha I fall asleep on the couch too. That's why I will purchase another to leave in the house even if I'm not flying anywhere! Uber handy.
ReplyDeleteThese sound fab, and I'm totally sold on the orange scent, but I'm not even going to try them as my purse would not thank me for falling in love with £15 wipes sadly!
ReplyDeletehttp://suziemodedevie.wordpress.com/
I need to stay away from these, they sound like an expensive addiction and I have too many of those in my skin routine already! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe perks of being a hipster
Wish I could get these, I'll have to look out for them in a sale or something :)
ReplyDeleteBeyond Bally.
I like it!!

These look amazing. I sometimes find make-up wipes super scratchy and I make a bit of a mess when I've had a vino or two!
ReplyDeleteWill have to check these out from FeelUnique!

They sounds pretty nice! But I have to be honest, idk if I could swallow that price!! Good to know they are worth the money though! <3
ReplyDeleteKallie @ But First, Coffee
I do love the sound of these, but I don't think I could justify £15 when I don't even spend that much on cleanser :s I do love oranges though..
ReplyDeleteDaniella x
http://daniella-r.blogspot.co.uk
Oh, sounds good, and orange scent just makes it even better :-)
ReplyDelete£15 is a bit steep for face wipes, think I'll have to just take your word for how great they are lol. Although I do love the idea that they smell like oranges, but its still not enough to tempt me to splash out on these.
ReplyDeleteKayla x
www.curiouslykayla.blogspot.com
I like the idea of them being orange scented, but think I'll stick to my baby wipes! 80 for £1-2. They may not be as nourishing, but they take my makeup off without leaving my skin irritated or dry, and that's all I really look for in face wipes!
ReplyDeleteThey do sound amazing but I could never justify spending £15 on wipes!
ReplyDeleteThese sound amazing, shame about the price though! x

Wow, these sound like a lovely option for lazy, sleepy nights. Thanks for the review! xo

I can be quite lazy when it comes to removing make-up and always use a baby wipe which is totally bad. I got some yes to cucumber towelettes recently and I haven't used them yet but they'll be on my product to use list when I go to remove my make-up later. They do sound good but not sure about the £15 price.
ReplyDeleteKate | Sparkle Dust x
I can be quite lazy to remove makeup properly and always liked facial wipes for those lazy evenings, but I'm fortunate that I cannot get these Ł15 vipes here. I'd be probably falling for them and be a very poor student in the end. Haha...
ReplyDeletewww.makeupandstilettos.blogspot.hu
These sound so good however I'm just not sure if £15 is a little steep for facial wipes!

ReplyDeletethebeautybow.blogspot.co.uk
i love the soap and glory face wipes that exfoliate at the same time! As great as these sound i really could'nt justify spending £15 on face wipes
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Dreams
I've always used the Truth Serum, but have never ventured into their face wipes. I think I'll pick some up next time I'm at Sephora... I need a new pkg anyway!
ReplyDeleteThanks Fleur for the review :)
Would love to try these as I am a face wipe fan!
ReplyDeletehttp://lux-rose.blogspot.co.uk/
£15! What? So expensive? Even though the face wipes I am currently using do dry my skin out a little bit. I would much rather use a good moisturiser afterwords then spend £15?
ReplyDeleterachellouisehenderson.blogspot.co.uk
sound good.. but not £15 pounds worth! wow. I would never spend that much money on face wipes. Good review though :)

Don't think I could bring myself to spend £15 on make up wipes but they do sound pretty good x x x
ReplyDeletehttp://yougottabegorgeousx.blogspot.co.uk/
They sound really lovely but I cannot seriously justify spending £15 on some face wipes!
ReplyDeleteImogen - A rendezvous with you
I just started using the Say Yes to Cucumbers face wipes and have been liking those. Maybe I should try these next.
ReplyDeleteI have a mixed feeling about these because I have tried other skin care products by this same brand and haven't noticed any difference so I am skeptical on spending that much on just a face wipe. I am sure I will cave and try these (like i normally do haha) especially since they are cheaper here in the states and the orangey scent really intrigues me! Thanks for the review!!!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, I can never find face wipes that don't leaved skin dry. Would like to try these though!
ReplyDeletethatgirlcalledlauren.blogspot.co.uk
Feel unique do a pack of ten of these for £5.70 for anyone looking to try :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteThese sound fab to try out but i'm not a massive user of face wipes so £15 is a hefty sum! If i ever use them more i'll definitely try these out
ReplyDeletexx
I've heard so many good things about these !

ReplyDeleteWould you mind thinking about making a post/beauty video about anti-aging products/tips/tricks for 20-somethings... I'm 23 and have just noticed some thin laugh lines under my eyes and am worried that I'm not using the best product for under-eye moisturizing. Help a girl out?? I have no clue where to start looking! I'd been using Estee Lauder's Resilience Lift, but it doesn't seem to be working anymore. Clueless!
xx
Wow, you're making these wipes sound awesome. I will definitely have to try them (and I'm glad they're cheaper in the States!)
ReplyDeleteladyindo.blogspot.com
I got these at Sephora last year (I think it was part of a sample pack of some sort) and just got around to trying them and I must say, they are fantastic! I have a 10 sheet travel pack which will come in super handy when I travel. I may get addicted, as well... things might get dangerous!

These people are awfully crafty to market these at such a price. Here I'm sitting now thinking, my gosh they MUST be worth it! The wipes I'm using must be awful compared to these. Thankfully I do live in the US so I feel a real sense of obligation to try these now haha

ReplyDeleterae @ lovefromberlin.net
Hi everybody! Ive recently started my own blog about beauty lifestyle and fashion and I would love it if you showed it some love! Thanks x
ReplyDeleteThese are my skin care staple!! I found them after using the Truth Serum for about a year... and found out that they are, in fact, infused with some of the Truth Serum in them! Which somewhat (but nowhere near entirely) justifies the price tag. They run about $15 in the US and for about $3 cheaper are the Korres Pomegranate wipes, also a favorite, but come in second to the OH.
ReplyDeleteThey sound like the perfect face wipe. Too bad of the cost though as it is definitely not in my budget to spend this much on face wipes. It's always nice to find a product you truly love though.
