Allegiant by Veronica Roth - Giveaway!

Today's the day guys!  'Allegiant', the third and final book in the Divergent series by Veronica Roth, goes on sale! I am such a huge fan of the first two books, I can't wait to read the third one!
If you haven't read Divergent or Insurgent, and are a fan of books like The Hunger Games and Maze Runner, then I'm pretty sure you would love the series
(It's my personal favourite of them all!) It's set in a futuristic, dystopian version of Chicago, where society is divided into five different 'factions' based on an individual's pre-disposition for one of humanity's key virtues: Abnegation (selflessness), Amity (kindness), Candor (honesty), Dauntless (bravery) and Erudite (intelligence). The story is centered around Tris Prior, who is 'Divergent' (suited to more than one faction), and her struggle to uncover the truth behind the unnatural society she has been born into.

If you're also a fan of the series and fancy winning a copy of the new book, the lovely people over at Harper Collins are giving 20 of my readers the chance to do just that!

I have 20 hardcover copies of the book to give away... All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning one is:

1. Be a follower of my blog.
2. Write a comment telling me what you like about the Divergent series.
3. Don't forget to include your email address or Twitter handle so that we can notify you if you win!

Good luck guys! If you don't want to wait and take your chances of winning one of the free copies, Allegiant is in shops now, and for sale online here.

T's & C's: This giveaway is open for ONE WEEK (closes Midnight GMT Tuesday 29th October). It is open internationally. You can enter once per account, per day. If you are under 18 please ask permission of your parent or guardian before entering. The 20 winners will be chosen at random from the comment entries.

PS: If you're into Tumblr, Harper Collins have made a cool theme that you can download here, and they've also release a trailer for the book if you fancy a gander...

  7. I like them because I feel like it's a happy medium between action and adventure but it's also got a tonne of character development to keep me interested. I'd like to think I'd be Dauntless but I'm too much of a chicken to be that haha

  10. I really love this SERIES. The plot, characters and everything about this series are just perfect. I feel like riding a rollercoaster while reading this series. Like whoa, I didn't see that coming.. the twists is absolutely mindbogling. Even better than the THG series in my opinion. :)

  11. What I like about this series is the setting and the originality. There are lots of books with this genre, but still it doesn't feel like something I have read before. The book keeps surprising me!

  12. Oh thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to win a copy of "Allegiant"! I've been waiting for months for this book to finally come out but it's a little bittersweet since it's going to be last one. I've read through Divergent and Insurgent in a couple of days and couldn't put down either one of them. Veronica Roth has created such an exciting new world and through her descriptions she made it very easy for me to imagine the dystopian Chicago. I also love that she was able to bring up so many different themes in the books like guilt, betrayal, friendship, family. Although I really like a good love story I'm glad that that's not all that the books are about. This series has been my favorite from all the dystopian fiction novels out there and I can't wait to read what happens next to Tris.

  20. Ahh this is amazing!! I'm currently half way through Insurgent and they're amazing. I love how empowered Tris is, she stands for young girls and women around the world that if you are determined, you can make a positive change. I adore the fact that she still has the usual insecurities young adults endure, yet she's out there kicking ass and standing up for a better world, and whilst Four definitely brings out a good side in her, she definitely doesn't need a man!!

What I love the most about those book is the fact that Veronica is a pure genius. She keeps killing my fav characters and yet I still love those books. Tris is just so strong and she is so much more powerful than she thinks and Tobias is the best male character, cause he is not cheesy at all. And I want to know what happens behind this fence before being spoiled and/or before April

  34. What I like about the series is that the descriptions of the characters are so vivid and easy to picture and imagine especially Tris and Four. The whole idea of a society being separated into factions based on human qualities is also really appealing to me personally, because I feel like it sort of makes you stop and think about which qualities are the most important within our society. Also it does help that Tris is a total Bad-A! :)

  36. I love everything about this series, I've been obsessed! My favorite thing about this series is how each faction is so interesting and starts off seeming like an interesting idea, yet as the series goes on you realize the fatal flaws in each of them. Seeing each character transformation, such as Tobias' and Tris' and Caleb, and how they relate to each faction is what really drew me to the series and I'd love to be one of the winners of Allegiant! It got me hooked instantly; the plot, characters, the whole setting which seemed so real I could literally picture it in my head... and so much more I just can't summarise my love for it in only a few sentences!
I can't wait to finish the series and also wait till the movie air next year!! :)

  123. Hey Fleur!
Divergent is actually my favourite dystopian book ever.
I love the book for 3 main reasons
    1) there's no silly love triangle over shadowing the actual plot of the story.
    2) The two main characters, Tobias and Tris, they're mighty together, but they have strength within themselves as individuals. They don't forget them selves
3)The book shows that all the qualities mentioned in the book are vital in people. None is more important than the other, be it courage or selflessness. These characteristics make a person who they are. The world runs on the qualities together. Our strengths shouldn't be a cause to divide us. It should be helping others where they are weak and vice versa. Where we weak, we should take support in another's strength.

  134. I absolutely love Divergent and Insurgent, because of the way that they handle identity crisis, and the pressure from your surroundings to fit you into boxes and label you. It is divine!! Finally a critical look at the pressure on young people to choose the "right" thing, whatever that may be and how it deals with the consequences of huge life decisions. I swear it's one of my favourite series, I could go on: The critique of who has the power in society and the shift that is happening. So good!!

  142. I love Divergent because Tris is so easy to relate too. She's someone I wished I could be more like. The Divergent world is just so amazing and Veronica Roth is brilliant. Four is someone I wished was real so I could, well you know marry him.

I just like how Veronica made is clear that Tris wasn't particularly "pretty" I just feel like all heroines are gorgeous and that's totally unfair.
Anyways I'm totally in love with the factions idea to me it was very unique and cool. I guess I was like Tris when she was back in Abnegation. That quiet girl who doesn't exactly want to be quiet. People think I'm selfless because I'm the person who gives you my seat on the bus or something like that. Not because I want to just because people expect me to be that way. I wished I was Tris. I wished I was dauntless. And reading the Divergent series didn't exactly make me jump off a train dauntless but it definitely made me braver. So yeah, I love the Divergent series because it changed my life. Hope to win, and thanks for the giveaway <3

  147. I love this series and it's actually my favourite from the ones you mentioned. One of the things that I appreciated in these books is that it's unique, because when a certain genre becomes very popular it's very common for most of "the new it series" to blend together, the creativity just becomes a recycle process of what's already popular.
I think that Veronica Roth is a very talented writer and her books are her own, not just some mash-up of other writers' ideas, they are unique and grab you from the very first page to the last.
Actually, I loved them so much that when I finished reading Insurgent and found out how long I would have to wait until the 3rd book was released it was worse than a kick in the stomach... I was like: "what am I going to do with my life now? I can't possibly wait that long!!!! ..." Now, it's finally here. \o/

Her braveness and her courage in this series was outstanding and every detail made this book more enjoyable. Also, the romance in this novel is so pure, striking and unexpected. The nickname "Tris" shows this vulnerable but also dangerous side of Beatrice and her innocence and size can overthrow anyone. All in all, this book is rich and takes the reader to a whole new world. Besides, Veronica's writing style is smooth and easy to follow, but really strong and she has improved so much, I'm not a huge distopian world fan but Veronica just makes it more interesting I guess?. I love reading books with strong female protagonists and I love the fact that Tris is strong but vulnerable, her character development is so good and you feel like she is part of you, you suffer with her and you feel what she feels.

  159. I remember when i first started this series a little over 2 years ago. I couldn't believe that i had to wait over a year and a half for this book to come out when i finished insurgent, i also cant believe today is the day it comes out. Ive read the book at least a dozen times and mention it as my favorite all the time to anyone who asks. I love that this isn't this typical romance, no love triangle (yay), and the two main characters aren't strikingly gorgeous -in the book, it is said that Tris is average looking- so who she is, is based more on the person versus her appearance which is something we don't see very often. Also I am a very character driven reader and absolutely feel in love with Four the minute he came in the story, his demeanor, view on life, mystery behind him was all so exciting to learn over and over again. I would love to win the third book because i feel like it would just help me complete this series, from me reading it two years ago to the final book being released. 175. I really like how in the first book when tris is describing how she feels to be brave and her initiation into dauntless, it made me feel brave also. I also like the relationship between tris and tobias because tris isnt relying on tobias for protection, love, etc. She is her own person and she makes her own decisions. I also like how humble she is, she doesn't think that she is selfless or allegiant in any way, but she actually might be the most selfless person out there in the divergent world. I also like how the story always makes me guess because i usually can predict whats going to happen, but in this series i'm always nicely surprised, it keeps me on my toes. I read the last book in a day because i was so interested! i had planned on buying the new book anyway but if i win more money in my pocket :D and i get to read a new amazing book that continues tris's story.

I just couldn't stop. I actually really like Tris' father. even though he may seem strict, he seems like a wise man and I like the quotes Tris recalls her father saying. They make a lot of sense! 192. I've read a variety of dystopian books and series, and what's so great about the Divergent series is that it is absolutely engrossing to read — it blew my mind! I wouldn't necessarily say that the premise is an original idea, but Roth writes a convincingly exciting and addictive story that just absorbs you into the action.

In addition the great thing about the Divergent series is that the second book, Insurgent, doesn't suffer of what I call the second-book-syndrome, it succeeds to solid, and stand on its own and be an important part of the series, instead of being a filler.

  197. I love divergent book series and they are a rare case of book that actually appeals to me. Its weird but I feel this connection with tris more than any other characters I have experienced in books. I love this book, the competition is fabulous thanks for the opportunity!

  198. Four, Four, Four and Four....Oh. Did I mention Four????

I love Divergent and its action. Especially the scene when Tris jumps off of the train and onto the roof. She's got some major balls!!!

  199. I've been loving this series so far - I read the first book in a day and have been reading the second every night after work this week. I'm a bit like you in that this is my favourite of the dystopian type future books I've read, the pacing in particular really keeps you on the edge of your seat.
