Pommes Frites Candle Co.

A few months ago, I found one of these candles in a little shop in Brooklyn, New York and it's quickly become one of my all time favourites. I'd never heard of the Pommes Frites Candle Co at the time (I was just drawn in by the delicious scent!) but it turns out these little brown jars are really something quite special.
The scent I went for at the time was Amber & Moss, and after falling totally in love with it when I got home, I tracked down a place to buy them in the UK...

Although they are quite a bit more expensive here (£18 compared to $16!), I think they are really worth it, as in comparison to some of the other high-end candles out there (which are still double the price) they kick off a lot more scent,  and the fragrances are totally unique and utterly divine.
I think the Amber and Moss is still my favourite, but I have since ordered three more in the form of Sweet Grapefruit (I'm not normally that much of a grapefruit fan but this is gorgeous, and probably my second favourite!) Teakwood & Tobacco (more of a sexy masculine, wintery scent but gorgeous for a home fragrance) and Fig & Jasmine (really nice but surprisingly my least favourite (I normally obsess over fig fragrances!)
I looked into the history of the company a bit more and was happy to find out it's actually a family business run by a husband and wife team from LA. I managed to track down a stockist in the UK here who sells all of the scents I have, but the company also has an Etsy store that apparently ships worldwide so I may have to make my next order from there and try out some different scents (Hello, Spiced Pumpkin!)

Have any of you heard of or tried these candles before? I'm obsessed!

THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. THE WINNER WAS @LauraMetcalf
I actually bought an extra Amber & Moss candle for one of you lovely people too, so if you'd like to win it, all you have to do is head over to twitter, tweet me the name of your current favourite candle with a link to this blog post and the #FDFCandle. The giveaway is open internationally until the 23rd September GMT. You can enter as many times as you like and the winner will be announced on twitter, and on this blog post! Good Luck!

  4. Such a weird company name though! Haha Isn't pommes frites french for french fries, or am I thinking of a completely different thing? Whoops.

Teakwood & Tobacco sounds like my cup of tea! Going on their Etsy page now!

  10. I really like stumbling upon small family-run businesses and Brooklyn is full of them. I'll be sure to check out their Etsy store.

When I was there I went to the Mast Brothers choc factory. If you're a fan of dark chocolate then make sure you check them out. I think we can get them in the UK from time to time.

  17. What a cute candle name and how gorgeous is the packaging? I hate the inflation prices that they charge for different countries. I understand that they need to cover their cost of shipping but some price differences are just ridiculous! x

  47. There's an online shop based in San Francisco that sells these and ships worldwide (www.shopanomie.com). I think if you're only going to buy one candle at a time it's probably about the same to use the UK stockist, but if you buy more you'd definitely be saving some cash! My ultimate favourite is teakwood & tobacco (smells like a sexy bearded man), but I also love the gardenia & coconut and the summer breeze ones.
