Illamasqua Brow Gel

A gel eyeliner for your brows. Sounds scary, right?! Think again! For the past few weeks I've been using the new Illamasqua Brow Gel pots and they are amazing. Like seriously great.
When these landed on my doorstep last week I thought they would be hard to use, OTT and a bit of a faff, but they are utterly brilliant. Yes, you need to be careful you don't over apply and you need to use the perfect brush, but when applied correctly these look really natural and stay all day!

The shade Strike is also the perfect brow shade for me (something that can be tricky being a blonde with brunette eyebrows, it's hard finding the right balance of warm/cool tones)

To apply, I use a tiny little eyeliner brush (mine is also from Illamasqua, here), take a small amount onto the back of my hand, load the brush then wipe away any excess into the back of my hand to ensure I don't over-apply (less is definitely more in this case!) I then use the tiny brush to paint little strokes into my brows where they are a little sparse, mimicking the appearance of natural hairs.

I've been combining this will my Eylure brow gel to set the hairs in place and I've been absolutely loving the results! New brow holy grail product right here!

What do you think? Would you try gel for your brows or will you be sticking with pencils and powder?!

You can pick up the Illamasqua brow gel for £18.50 at Illamasqua counters, or online from ASOS here.

  1. This looks like a nice brown color.
For my brows, I started using a pencil, but now I prefer using an eyeliner brush with a powder. I think you can style the brows more precisely using a brush. To keep them in place I use a transparent brow gel.

    Have a nice sunday! :-)

  4. I still struggle with my brows, but yours look fantastic! I do like potted gel liner over pencils, so maybe a potted brow gel is also the way to go.

  10. I've been wanting to try a brow pomade gel/cream for ages but most of them are so expensive, so I'm waiting eagerly for the drugstore to catch up and release one! I currently use S&G's brow archery pencil to outline the shape and the tail and then fill them in lightly with Illamasqua's Brow Cake in 'Thunder' which works really well :)

  19. I currently use the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade and I don't think I will ever shy away from using gel on my brows, however it will take me that long to actually use my Dipbrow up that I don't think i'll be in the market for another brow product for a very long time!
