So it's been absolutely ages since I've posted a 'Fragrance Friday'. I've been feeling a little uninspired on the fragrance front recently, I've been reaching for some of my old favourite scents rather than lusting after new releases, but the launch of this rather special scent has gotten me so excited, I couldn't wait to share it with you all.
Reem Acra is most famous for her beautiful bridal gowns, but also dresses countless celebrities for the red-carpet in her stunning couture designs including Taylor Swift, Kristen Stewart, Olivia Wilde and Zooey Deschanel. The release of Ms. Acra's debut fragrance actually coincided with a personal visit to her bridal boutique in New York City for me, so I got to try the fragrance first hand while viewing her stunning collection of gowns (on a rather exciting side note, I did actually choose one for my wedding day - but of course can't share any more details with you... yet!)
The fragrance is simply entitled 'Eau de Parfum'. The simple gold packaging with Reem Acra's classic floral design and signature doves is utterly decadent in yet suitably sophisticated, and the rectangular bottle has a clear window showing the beautiful amber liquid.
The scent itself is equally as sophisticated with top notes of bergamot, peach and orange blossom, and distinct heart notes of jasmine, lily of the valley and ginger giving it a unique twist. It has a warm base of amber, musk, patchouli and cedar which gives it a slight hint of masculinity in my opinion. It's an undeniably unique scent that Ms. Acra worked closely with perfumer Pierre Negrin to create, naming the finished product "classically elegant and uniquely contemporary" and designed to inspire confidence and make women feel beautiful, like Ms. Acra's gowns.
It's definitely a more mature scent, but a modern one, and one that I think would make a perfect Christmas gift (let's face it, the packaging is simply perfect for Christmas!)
Reem Acra's debut fragrance is available exclusively from Harrods (Saks in the US) priced at £55 for 50ml and £72 for 90ml.
Love the packaging ! would love to try it !

I follow you since forever...and your wedding was such good news...for us, it's like we are your friends (vitually). I mus say You chose well - Reem Acra, Monique Lhuillier and Vera Wang are, in my humble opinion, the very best for bridal gowns. I don't have the change of buying a dress like that, but I must say mine is pretty wonderful by pronovias (a spanish brand. My wedding will be in september. Congrats from a portuguese girl :D

Ooh, I went wedding dress shopping at Reem Acra with a friend of mine and her dresses are sublime -- one prettier than the next. Are you teasing us with a photo of your gown in the mix of photos? As for fragrances, I really like several of the new "oud" based scents - Creed's Royal Oud and Byredo's "Oud Immortal." I also have been burning Diptyque's new holiday candle - Oud Amber. I discovered Herme's Terre in a Sephora sample and had to buy a bottle. It's meant for men but like most Hermes'scents, it's quite unisex. And the final addition to my collection for A/W is Jo Malone's Blackberry scent. Lovely layered over their Amber and Lavender cologne.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like the kind of thing I would go for, I'm a big fan of classic warm scents. Although isn't it self titled, a.k.a. the name is Reem Acra, rather than Eau De Parfum, which just seems to be an indication of concentration?

I wonder how it smells like. I think perfumes scents is based with the personality of the person. And the one who smells it can tell. It is like pheromones, It would be effective once it was smell with one who really attracted with that some kind of scent.
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful gowns. I'd have to say Olivia Wilde's is my favorite.
