I'm more than a little late on the band wagon with these. They've been all over blogs for the past few months, but to be honest, the pastels shades didn't take my fancy and this gorgeous pink had been sold out everywhere I looked before this weekend.
This is Barry M's Gelly Hi-Shine formula in Pomegranate, a gorgeous vibrant pink-red. It's formulated to make your nails look like gel nails. The consistency is thick and super-opaque. The picture below is with one coat, without a top coat, so if you don't like faffing around with three coats of colour and a top coat, then these are definitely the polishes for you!
They have a lovely shiny finish and dry quickly, however, I would advise that you don't skip your base coat with this shade in particular (I can't say for the other colours, but I presume the pastels will be ok) but this stained my nails pretty badly.
Otherwise, I was really impressed for the £3.99 price tag. They're currently 2 for £6 in Superdrug too. Bargain. It seems that my love affair with Barry M has been rekindled...
Love the colour of this, I was going to pick some up the weekend and this colour is one of them so pretty xxx

got to love Barry M!

I have Prickly Pear and Blueberry, but I find with just 1 coat it's still a bit thin. Maybe with the brighter colours it comes out more opaque :) This is such a pretty colour and looks great on your nails Fleur! xx

I love pomegranate! It does stain like a mofo - I only have one other Gelly (blackberry) and that stains too, but they're quite dark brights. I'm desperate to try the rest though, this range has the most gorgeous shades!
ReplyDeleteI loved Barry M's original Nail Paint and thatg colour is so nice :)

Wow! I can't believe that is just with one coat! Such a lovely colour too :) that's a shame about it staining your nails, my friend had a dark green one of the Gelly polishes and it stained her nails too. I might try the one of the pastels though!

I adore these Barry M polishes, I find they have great staying power... I can get to about 4-5 days with minimal tip wear, which is great for the price! Pomegranate is by far my favourite shade. Check out my Instagram shot of this shade on my blog :-)

The colour of this polish always looks so pretty in photos, but when I went to go have a look at it in Superdrug the other day it looked rather disappointing. However, they have a nice red called 'Blood Orange' that looks interesting, and they have a 2 for £6 offer on at Supedrug, so I might try both of these. Thanks for the recc, Fleur!
