Until recently I had overlooked Aveda's makeup line. I've been a fan of their hair products for years but the makeup never really caught my eye until I spotted this little gem...
If you aren't familiar with Aveda's makeup range, it all comes in reusable packaging, which you buy separately and fill with colours of your choice.
This cute compact caught my eye, as it's a really unusual combo of lipstick and powder. The two colours I filled it with are part of Aveda's 2013 Spring collection 'Art of Nature', and to me make the perfect addition to my makeup bag for Spring.
Both pretty coral tones, they complement each other perfectly.
The blush has three colours so can be used in different variations to create more dramatic looks, and the top shade works really well as a highlighter too!

This is a pretty awesome concept! Usually compacts have those small little wells for a lip color, if any. Amazing colors.

I generally think of Aveda as a hair care line. When I had my hair cut at an Aveda salon last year, a girl at the front of the shop asked me if I wanted my lipstick touched up and to choose a colour. I thought "why not" (even though this girl had no clue that I was a makeup addict) - I wanted to see what they had. They had a decent line, but I didn't see anything like the compact you posted about.
ReplyDeleteI love truly compact mix n match combo things to take with me in my bag throughout the day. A lot of cosmetic companies come out with eyeshadow/lip/blush/mascara mini compacts around Christmas, and I love to snap them up - they are amazing to travel with. This Aveda one is cute for spring.

I love how the packaging is reusuable, which could mean in general it may not be so expensive buying blushers or eye shadows without the compact already there. Such a good post and will be definitely eyeing up Aveda products now. Shame on you xD haha

I've loved Aveda's makeup for years! In fact, that is what I wore on my wedding day. :) Their lip glosses have kind of a bad odor though in my opinion.
