While I do get sent a lot of skincare products to try out for potential review on my blog, I have to be honest and say that I keep very few of them. I'm just so happy with my current skincare routine that next-to-nothing can tempt me away from it. I was however, very intrigued when these landed on my doorstep this morning.
The new skincare concept from Chanel simply entitled Le Jour De Chanel, La Nuit De Chanel and Le Weekend De Chanel...
Now, day cream and night cream are nothing new, but I was interested to see that they have added a weekend cream into the mix. A more nourishing, replenishing version of the others, it is to be applied morning and night at weekends, to replace the other two.
Just a gimmick to shift more product? Perhaps, but we shall see, as I'm going to be road-testing all three.
The thinking behind the three products is to keep the skin in a 'natural' rhythm, based around the modern, hectic lifestyle. The day cream is focused on reactivation of the skin, with jasmine for energy and salicylic acid for radiance, while the night cream is focused on recharging the skin with frankincense to soothe and hyaluronic acid to plump. Finally the weekend cream is focused on renewing with rose water to soften and a glycolic acid complex to promote hydration.
A further eyeball at the ingredients list tells me that they are all mineral oil and paraben free, but I don't claim to be a skincare expert so I'm not going to go into anything further than that.
My skin may hate me... we shall see. I couldn't resist. I will keep you updated on these.
They will be available to buy from Chanel counters this Friday, priced at £60, £60 and £72 respectively, or all three for £172 (saving £20... cunning!)
They look like little bottles of luxury :)

I'm sure they're awesome but they are soooo expensive !
ReplyDeleteMissManzanna.Blogspot
How do Chanel always tempt me with their packaging? However with that price tag I will resist! Xx

I had picked these up from my Nordstroms a few months ago when they were first released as a Nordstroms exclusive. Although I have had my skin under control for a while now, I can comfortably say that my skin didn't hate me for trying these out. Thus far, a change that I have noticed is that my skin doesn't look as tired as often, and my pores are looking a little less visible. I hope these work out well for you!
ReplyDeleteThese look amazingly luxurious! I have my eyes glued to the Weekend one now :)
ReplyDeletecant wait to hear how you get on with them the weekend one seems quite interesting haha

I work for an organic cosmetic company..so I know some ingredients that you don't really want to be having because they are not beneficial to us, and are infact harmful. I've not seen the list of ingredients for these, so I can't possibly comment. But I do guarantee there is parabens, which are bad for us. Chanel are known for using fragrance in their products.. which is not good. They do lovely perfum.. But skincare? hmmm.. don't think I'd want to be suing these.
ReplyDeletePlease keep in mind that many people do not have issues with using products with fragrance or parabens.
DeleteHow is it that you can "guarantee" these products have parabens without having ever seen the list of ingredients? Here is a list of ingredients if anyone is interested:

Personally, I have never tried any skincare products from Chanel and I don't think I ever will. They are too overpriced in my opinion. Nevertheless, I would say if they happens to work wonder for your skin in comparison to the cheapest brands then why not.
ReplyDeleteHoly moly that is a lot of money to be spending on moisturising! £172, eek! It had better be super for that amount of moolah. I'd be really interested to see what your thoughts are.
ReplyDeleteLucy x The New Northerner
I don't know if chanel skincare products are worth the price tag! I am so excited to see how they work on you, though!
ReplyDeletehttp://modernbeautygirl.blogspot.com/
For that money I would be hoping for an amazing impact on my skin! Can hardly justify spending that amount, although they would look splendid on my bathroom shelf ;)

Nice article Fleur.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to correct something, you entitled your article "La visage de Chanel" but it doesn't mean anything in French actually.
"Visage" is masculine, so you should say either "Le visage de Chanel" or if you mean that it's a range dedicated to the face, you could say "La gamme visage de Chanel".
Sorry to correct you, it's just that I'm French and it struck me.
Bye!
"It struck" you? Really? Are so easily "struck"? I'm a French girl too, but, 1) Any French understands what "La visage" means, it's just a little mistake and 2) It's hard for English people to dicern from feminine or masculine. So... soyez plus cool, dites juste, on dit le ou la, n'en faites pas une affaire! ;-)
Delete172- eek!!!

I felt a little bit breathless just looking at the photos, the packaging is absolutely gorgeous! I'm really intrigued by the weekend cream, will keep an eye out for your review post! Although, I must admit that I also felt breathless whilst looking at the price, £172? oh my.

Absolutely ridiculous price. I have no doubt they are good products but I have better ways of spending that money.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I'd be very intrigued to see what your thoughts are on these. Will be flying soon, so might pick this up on duty free if you're getting on with them. x
ReplyDeleteThese are sooooo pricey! I can't say I'll be trying them out to be honest. :/
ReplyDeleteI also have a giveaway running on my blog at the moment. :3 Just for anyone who is interested.

All three sound like such luxurious products. I mean...they're CHANEL, so we wouldn't expect anything less!
ReplyDeleteBut those products are just too expensive for me. If I had that kind of high-end budget, I'd put them in my shopping cart in no time!

Can't wait to see how you get on F! 'Weekend' what an unusual concept, very intriguing.

Woah! Try it after your wedding! I am getting married in a month exactly and the makeup artist told me not to shift anything up with my skincare until after the wedding. What I am doing works great, stick to it and then after the wedding play around with new products. It's hard to resist, but you never know what might happen and the clock is ticking!
ReplyDeletevery interesting post i will try it.
ReplyDeletelove jelaegbe.blogspot.de
changing your skincare before your wedding???? Are you crazy!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteps WHAT A RIPOFF
As much as I love Chanel, the simplicity of the packaging for this frustrates me. Very high price point for what looks like something they couldn't be bothered to shell out on! I only hope they are really bloody good haha.

i would love to own a chanel product but just way too expensive :(
ReplyDeletehttp://bronwynblogs.blogspot.co.uk/
You should know these are actually creamy serums that go on -before- your moisturizer, they don't replace it. I made that mistake when I first heard about them.
ReplyDeleteThe official Chanel instructions on the night one I bought: "Apply in the evening. Follow with moisturizer if needed." Which it is "needed", especially for dry skin.
I love Chanel so much! Love your post x
