This nifty little limited edition powder
landed on my doorstep last week and I have to say I was instantly intrigued and
impressed by the design. I’m not normally taken in by loose powders with built
in brushes, as in my experience they can end up being a little messy. Having
road tested this one for a week however, I can confirm that it seems to be the
exception…
It’s a clever little disc that swivels to
reveal an oval, flat brush that dispenses just the right amount of product
automatically...
What’s more, it contains bareMinerals’ ‘Mineral Veil’
translucent powder, which has been a favourite of mine for ages. (This version is actually to celebrate it's 15th year of production!) I have tried
both the loose and pressed versions, and while I really love them both, I think
for some reason it’s slightly better as a loose powder, so this portable
version of the original is great for me.
The perfect powder for handbag touch ups on
the go. I’m seriously in love with it.
This limited edition powder will be
available from April from bareMinerals shops, website and at Boots, priced at £22.
Hey Fleur, do you happen to know if the powder is suitable for sensitive skin? I've tried BareMinerals foundations and found them a bit irritating, this however would be a handbag god send! I'm sick of dropping my pressed powders and seeing them shatter into a million pieces!
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
Hey, I know you didn't ask me but I have sensitive skin so I have to be careful with what I use on my face. My mam has the loose powder and I tried a bit and it didn't break me out or irritate my skin at all! :) If you go into the counter they should give you a little sample pot I remember her getting one before!
DeleteHey, thanks for your reply :) I'll definitely have to ask at the counter the next time i'm in Boots or Debenhams :) xx
DeleteJust wanted to chime in since some BareMinerals powders irritate my skin as well! The Mineral ingredient that usually causes irritation/breakouts is Bismuth Oxychloride. This is present in Bare Mineral's original powder foundation but NOT in their MATTE powder foundation OR in their Mineral Veils. Of course, it's always best to get a sample when possible to be on the safe side.
DeleteI'm a huge fan of Mineral Veil as it gives your skin an air-brushed look and doesn't look cakey at all.
MY BLOG: ♥♥♥ Ella Pretty ♥♥♥
Just a little thought to add ...
DeleteThe first few times I tried Bare Minerals I thought I was allergic to them! Cue bumpy, irritated unhappy skin. So they got shoved in the back of my make-up cupboard never to see the light of day, until, several years later I found them and decided to have another go. This time, with either a stroke of genius, or, and I suspect this is more likely, momentary dolallyness, I started smooshing the clean Bare Minerals brush on my face as opposed to the back of my hand, to test its softness.... Cue itchy, sore skin!
So, I tried them with a synthetic brush ( instead of the natural hair one that came with it ) and they were fab - BM has been my foundation of choice ever since!
Now I'm loving the ready foundation, but for veil, it has to be loose for me, so I'm looking forward to the release of this little thing! Having serious make-up envy that the lovely Fleur gets to try these goodies out! Lucky girl
;-)
Sounds good! Can it be re-filled Fleur? I have three mineral veils so should really use them up.... xx
ReplyDeleteOooh that's a good question. It would be awesome if you could re-fill it x
DeleteI'd love to try this out. Love the design especially x
