I haven't worn a backpack for at least 15 years. I have to admit, I didn't 'get' the backpack trend at all until recently. Suddenly something inside me clicked and I kept eyeing them up in every shop, looking for the perfect one. I spotted a stunning Alexander Wang while I was in Nordstrom a couple of weeks ago but I couldn't bring myself to splurge such a huge amount of cash on something I just wasn't sure I could pull off.
Enter this Topshop tasselled suede number...
I've been carrying it for about a week now and I really love it! It can be a bit impractical when you're shopping and need to pull your wallet out in a hurry but it fits loads of things in and frees up your hands when you need them. I'm loving it!
What do you guys think of the backpack trend? Are you loving it or not so sure?
I love that bag, it makes me want to go to a festival!

This bag is beautiful! I personally usually opt for a more aztec pattern but this one is to die for. Hope it continues to serve you well :) xxx

Oh Fleur its so gorgeous! I know that you mentioned in your video that you wasn't totally sold on it, but it looks like you have really fallen in love! xx
ReplyDeleteThat bag is gorgeous! I didn't really 'get' the backpack trend either, but I'm exactly the same I can't stop eyeing them all up now! Think I might have to give into the temptation:) xx
ReplyDeleteI usually have to wear backpacks due to a bad back, and they can be a hassle when routing around in a hurry for your purse, but when they look as cute as your Topshop one, they are worth it! H xx

I carry a backpack too sometimes when my back is sore! I agree on the purse comment, such a pain! It always falls right to the bottom!

It's cute! I'm not sure about wearing a backpack though, I haven't since school. I kinda miss it...

I'm not so into backpacks but this one doesn't look quite so...childish? I guess. Lovely! I wish i'd have seen it before my festival this year! Would have come in handy!
ReplyDeleteSam xo sjmcdf
It looks great! I agree, backpacks can be kinda annoying when you need to pull out your wallet quickly, but it also allows you so much more freedom with your hands, and also it doesn't hurt your shoulders/arms especially if you're out all day. :D
ReplyDeleteThis bag is so stunning, but then again can Topshop do any wrong?
ReplyDeletenueyork.blogspot.com
I am not very into backpacks, but I am into fringes, so I actually like it a lot!

That's so cute! It looks really high end as well, yet it was only £65. x

I bike everywhere I go, and since my basket broke, the backpack is sooo handy, I just can't describe it! I wear a blue, old fashioned one from Fjällräven, and I just love it. It's practical, sweet, and it's like bringing memories from my whole life with me wherever I go. It's great!
ReplyDeleteBut if it breaks or get stolen, and I decide not to buy an identical one, I would most definitely go for a rucksack like this one. The softness of it is so sweet and appealing, and I really adore it!
I love this backpack :) might buy it for university!

That's a very chic looking backpack :) I'm not sure I would be able to pull the trend off though, I would probably look like a student tourist or something haha. x

I love the backpack trend, its so effortless and fashionable yet very practical! The topshop bag is right up my street too, love it!

I'm a no on the general backpack trend, however I spend a lot of my time hauling books between my home and the library at uni, fun postgraduate times, so I need a trendy backpack. For my use, it's good that practical bags are in fashion but when out shopping, it's too much faff.
ReplyDeletehttp://lilhm.blogspot.co.uk
I love that backpack! I usually use a backpack for school because it's much more comfortable than other bags. I'll have to look in Topshop for backpacks for the next school year! :)) x
ReplyDeletethebeautyten.blogspot.co.uk
I actually prefer backpacks (especially whilst travelling) because it keeps my arms and hands free. I always have visions, though, of people coming up behind me and sticking their hands into my bag to steal my wallet (purse). That's about the only downside to carrying a backpack that I can think of.
ReplyDeleteIt looks really cool! x

Ah I love the tassels!!
ReplyDeleteI have a faux leather one from Topshop. It's great.
www.lipstickontshirts.blogspot.co.uk
I'm usually not into fringe, but I really loooove this bag!
ReplyDeleteI love back packs but you're so right about the purse! But for me backpacks are great because the weight is carried on both shoulders, not just on one side like purses. But saying that I am getting more into day bags again.

This is so gorgeous! I am really into backpacks at the moment as you can see from my blog! All backpacks are a little inconvenient when you have to pull your purse out but it is worth it because I no longer have back pain from carrying around a super heavy giant bag. Although I often find that Topshop bags break easily whether it is the zip or the stitching so much goes wrong!

I'm loving the backpack trend and I'm glad I never got rid of the older ones I've had from when I was younger because they really fit for now! I am in need of a plain black one to take for my next trip!

I haven't done the backpack as a purse trend since the tiny ones of the late nineties, because I was obsessed with Clueless. I'm still clueless obsessed but I'm more into her knee socks than her bag now.

I never thought I would like the backpack trend, thought my teen years had scarred me! Although I think the tassels on this making it more wearable and less backpack like!

For a backpack, I find I always need something a bit more 'shapely' just because I learned the hard way with tassels that they do get in the way. Appearance-wise, this backpack is quite lovely, good pick!

So beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteI'm on the backpack bandwagon with you! Must admit I've used backpacks for my entire highschool period and whilst going to university I found out I actually need a backpack and like it more than one of those schoulderbags. However I now own one from River Island, which is very handy, but the drawstring I don't like that much, takes so much time at the counter before you've unlocked that thing and closed it.. Anyway, love the one you bought! xx ♥
ReplyDeleteI love this bag Fleur! It's so swish I could just look at it all day. I'm really bad with bags though, I have so many!

Normally I don't really like backpacks. I feel like they should only be used for school and that is it but since yours is all black with tasselled i think you really pull it off. It looks really classy and cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm really not a huge fan of this bag. Tassels are just not my thing. Even that other bag you had which had tassels seemed kind of questionable to me. Also the back-pacl thing seems so strange and 90's to me. I used to have one of these back-pack purses when I was about 6 years old. It's funny how fashion is so circular in some ways.
ReplyDeleteBut I am in total support of bringing backpacks to school. By the time I was in my last few years of high school, and also when I was in uni, all the girls carried their books in oversized handbags- including me. I now have some bad back and shoulder issues, so maybe you are on the right track with this back pack thing?
I also recently started a blog, and I would love to have anyone's feedback on it.

I'm all about the backpacks! I know they probably make me look really un-cool, or like a tourist, but I love them! I have had a kanken for a few months now and it's my favourite thing ever <3

After being in relationship with emma for seven years,he broke up with me, I did everything possible to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so much because of the love I have for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. I explained my problem to someone online and she suggested that I should rather contact a spell caster that could help me cast a spell to bring him back but I am the type that never believed in spell, I had no choice than to try it, I mailed the spell caster, and he told me there was no problem that everything will be okay before three days, that my ex will return to me before three days, he cast the spell and surprisingly in the second day, it was around 4pm. My ex called me, I was so surprised, I answered the call and all he said was that he was so sorry for everything that happened, that he wanted me to return to him, that he loves me so much. I was so happy and went to him, that was how we started living together happily again. Since then, I have made promise that anybody I know that have a relationship problem, I would be of help to such person by reffering him or her to the only real and powerful spell caster who helped me with my own problem and who is different from all the fake ones out there. Anybody could need the help of the spell caster, his email: oodliaspelltemple45@gmail.com you can email him if you need his assistance in your relationship or anything.
