Today I wanted to share with you all the three newest additions to my fragrance wardrobe. I always wish I was one of those loyal fragrance-wearers who has a ‘signature scent’, the kind that instantly reminds those closest to you of you… but in reality I’m just too fickle with scent and my taste is constantly changing and developing. Over the years I’ve found myself gravitating to more and more ‘grown-up’ scents. I still can’t handle full-on floral but I’ve definitely developed more of a nose for florals and muskier, more unusual scents.
Even though I’m writing this on one of the rainiest days in British history (I’m currently sitting on a 3-hour delayed train due to flooding on the tracks) Spring is definitely on it’s way. These three are all perfect for spring as they are light, fresh and feminine...
The first is Maison Martin Margiela’s ‘Beach Walk’ from their Replica collection. I adore the concept of this range, designed to remind you of specific moments in history, this particular scent being of sun kissed salty skin in Calvi, 1972. I also love the bottles, reminiscent of apothecary bottles with white twine detailing around the neck and no lids. They do, however come with an *eye watering* price tag of £85 for 100ml Eau de Toilette, so for some that’s an automatic turn off, but if you’re into your fragrances they are worth taking a detour for in store to experience them. There are 10 scents in total, some female, some male and some unisex, but Beach Walk is by far my favourite with subtle notes of bergamot, pink pepper, lemon, musk, cedarwood and ylang ylang. Available online here.
The second scent I’m loving at the moment is easily one of the most unusual in my collection. It’s part of Jo Malone’s new Herb Garden collection for Spring 2016 and it’s called Wild Strawberry and Parsley. Whenever I think of strawberry notes in a fragrance I assume it’s going to be sickly sweet and probably a younger celebrity fragrance. But the parsley in this fragrance adds a green freshness to the scent that smells unlike any other fragrance I’ve come across. The entire collection is actually very unusual. Again, I would recommend checking it out if you’re into your fragrances and happen to be passing a Jo Malone counter. I personally wasn’t crazy about the other three scents in the collection but love this one when I want something a little different. It’s only available in the handbag-friendly 30ml bottle and is £44. Available online here.
Lastly is the latest addition to Chloe’s fragrance collection: Love Story Eau de Toilette. When ‘Love Story’ launched last year, I really wanted to love it (I mean, look at the bottle, it’s simply beautiful!) But something about it was too much for me, too strongly floral and a little heady. I felt the same way about it as I do about the original Marc Jacobs Daisy… I like it in theory, but when I actually wear it, it just gives me a bit of a headache. Last month they launch the EDT version of the original and I’m happy to report I’m a fan! I’m taking baby steps into the floral world but this is a nice in-between for those of you who want to love a floral fragrance like this, but can’t quite handle the full-on effect of an EDP. It’s still got strongly floral notes of Neroli, Orange Blossom and Jasmine, but a little softer and cleaner. It’s £42 for 30ml. Available online here.
What are your current favourite scents?

:) Thanks for your fragrance review. Plan to try "Beach Walk". My fav is Donna Karan's Cashmere Mist EDP £77.27 ($108) for 100.55ml (3.4 oz.)

I've also been getting into florals recently, usually I tend to go more for darker violet, sandalwood, vanilla scents. The Elizabeth and James Nirvana White is a great way to try floral without being overboard. I LOVE the Nirvana Black, but I've recently become obsessed with the Nirvana White as well.
ReplyDeleteChloe Love Story is one of my favorite scents, love the personalized bottle you got

I love the sounds of the Wild Strawberry & Parsley cologne! I saw it on the John Lewis website and thought it looked the one 'most up my street' from the collection so I'm intrigued to give this one a sniff. I've doused myself with Lime, Basil & Mandarin since I received it for Christmas - I'm nearly all out! The herby, freshness really makes what could be a basic scent into something intriguing, different and SO delicious!

“LOVE, Happiness, Care is the key to LIFE”. That was the word from Dr happy when I consulted his powerful Love Spell. I married the wrong man; I realized that after Three years of our unfruitful marriage. Everything was going from Best to Worst in our life, no child, I got demoted from work after our marriage, my husband was sacked a year after. His application for new job in various offices was constantly declined even though he was qualified enough. I was made to take care of my family with the low income I earn get that wasn’t enough to pay our rent. We keep praying a seeking for help from some people, my friends laugh at me behind because I was advised not to get married yet.It was one Thursday night that my husband woke me up and told me that has thought enough about our crisis, he said that our crisis is not ordinary and it’s beyond our spiritual level. He suggested we should consult Dr happy from testimonies he showed me online about how he has been helping families. I was afraid, I don’t like evil or spell but I supported him to contact him if he can help us. We consulted him via happylovespell2@gmail.com and he replied positively after 20munites with congratulating email that he can help us but he will need our pure heart and trusts in his work if he will cast the spell on us and purify our life. We agreed to his terms. He cast the spell and told us to expect results within 5days. I waited for three days nothing happened, so I started having doubt and blaming my husband for emailing Dr happy. It was on the fifth day that my husband was called for an interview and he got a well-paying work, I was prompted to a higher position. I missed my period on the 5th day and it was confirmed that I am with a baby. Things have really changed for us for good and we now have our own house and cars. I will never forget what Dr happy told us “LOVE is the key to LIFE”, this word keep me going. People that laughed at us are coming close for help and I am delighted to welcome them because my family is now blessed. Dr happy is a savior and man that keep to his word even when I doubted his powers at the end of the spell. Thank to your Oracle for helping us via happylovespell2@gmail.com

Chloe Love Story is one of my favorite scents.

I love me some Spring perfumes! I do love floral ones but they cannot be too heavy or sweet, or I won't like them at all. I tend to love the ones that are more on the fresh side of the floral spectrum, if that makes sense. I definitely want to check out that Jo Malone one :) xx
