The Best of the Christmas Collections 2010!

It's that time of year again, when you get bombarded by an influx of Christmas cosmetics collections two months before Christmas. Anyone getting a little tired of 100 Christmas collection posts on each blog?

Well, I've picked out my faves from across the board so you've only got to read one post from me!

First and foremost, from NARS...

I have to say I was initially taken in my the 'Crazy Heart' lipgloss collection, but reading the description of each I was disappointed to see all but one were 'Sheer' i.e hardly show up and not worth owning all 5 when they will set you back £35!

I do however, think the 'Sweet Disposition' Multiple collection is worth a look. A full size multiple will last you forever, so buying minis is a great option. They've included Orgasm, Luxor and Malibu for £32. A great deal when you consider one full size is priced at £27!

As for single items from the holiday collection, the only thing that really stood out to me was the beautiful 'Downtown' lip gloss.

On to MAC's Christmas offerings... I was really disappointed with the collection this year, a Scottish-themed affair named 'Tartan Tale' which looks fabulous all together in the promo images with the varying types of tartan packaging, but individually I'm just not blown away! I would consider picking up the Lip Set in 'Vain and Glorious' (more of a gift idea than for myself) and the Dazzleglass Creme in Gone Romancin' is pretty, but I'd rather spend my carefully saved Christmas funds elsewhere I think...

Available 11th November in stores, counters and online.

As for the fabulous L'Oreal 'All I Want for Christmas' advent calender... A new deluxe sample every single day?! I'm in love! Just a shame you're meant to get this before Christmas and I can't put it on my wishlist!

One of my favourite collections out this year is actually OPI's Burlesque collection. My pick of the bunch has to be 'The Show Must Go On', a beautiful deep pink/gold shimmer that I featured on here a few months back.

£9.95 available from LenaWhite.co.uk

Dior's festive offerings can't go without mention in this post, with their beautiful Minaudiere clutch palettes each featuring three eyeshadows and two lip colours. They're pricey at £60 but I'd be delighted to find either (It comes in 'Pink Golds' or 'Grey Golds') in my stocking this year (hint, hint Santa!)

The last Christmas release worth a mention comes from Boots of course! Always the best place to stock up on stocking fillers, this year they have collaborated with Fearne Cotton to release her very own make up line. I can't wait to get my hands on the 'Are You Giving Me The Eyes?' kit, a cute compact with four eyeshadows, mascara, liner, eye crayon and a little brush. The whole line has gorgeous packaging and is reasonably priced.

£18 Available now from Boots (and currently included in their 3 for 2 offer!)

What's top of your Christmas wish list?

  4. I'm LOVING the NARS holiday collection! They have a gorgeous gold eyeshadow that I'm desperately lusting for. I'm basically skipping the Tartan Tale collection, with the exception of the Sir Teddy bear for my daughter (it's a cute stocking stuffer and it goes towards a fabulous cause!). I also want the set of pigments, but those aren't being released until Nov. 4th (in the US).
