I Finally Caved...

I'm sure you've all heard about (or already own!) the Garnier 2-in-1 Tinted Eye Roll-On. This skincare-makeup hybrid product is rapidly acquiring somewhat of a cult following and somehow I had managed to resist the temptation to buy it... until I walked past Superdrug this weekend and saw that it was half price! It would be rude not to, surely?!

When I got this home and had a play I have to say I was impressed, and after three days use I'm definitely a convert. The metal rollerball is really cooling on your eyes and certainly feels like it's doing its job.

The formula also contains caffeine which apparently helps to eliminate bags by reducing the amount of moisture in the skin cells under the eye and also works to eliminate dark circles by increasing blood flow through the capillaries under the skin, helping the tissue around the eye to repair itself faster. I'm not sure about how effective this is in reality, but the product as a whole definitely helps erase any puffiness around my eyes.

The concealer itself is also a great consistency, blending into the skin very easily. Although it does look a little messy when first applied (which is one of the reasons why I resisted buying it for such a long time) The formula is very light and moisturising, so what seems like quite a lot of product is actually just about right.

It comes in three shades (very fair, fair & medium-dark) which is better than a one-shade-fits-all approach, but still doesn't quite cater for everyone. I chose the second lightest shade 'fair' and it's perfect for brightening up my eyes. If you haven't already tried this I'd definitely recommend doing so while it's still half pricein Superdrug. for £5.10 you can't go wrong! (and if you're already addicted... now's the perfect time to stock up!)

  1. I kinda want this...I wish i knew how it compares to YSL Touche eclat from the fact it claims to reduce puffiness.

  3. This is such a great product, it has totally replaced my Touche Eclat as I find it looks much more natural on the skin. Word of warning though; seal the lid on with sellotape if you want to travel with it, the product has a tendency to leak out of the lid and all over your make-up bag!

  9. Thanks for the tip Pandora - I'll definitely do that when I got to New York next week - You may have just saved my make up bag from serious mess! For those wondering how it compare to Touche Eclat, It's a very different formulation but it does give a similar effect. One thing I would say though, is that I tend to use the Touche Eclat on other areas to highlight (bridge of nose etc) while I wouldn't use this for doing that :) hope that helps - thanks for all your comments! fxx

  10. I have used the green one forever... mainly because i love the cooling of it under my eyes...its amazing in the summer when its roasting hot!!

Haven't tried the coloured one prob because i already wear concealer under my eyes so would this replace it or is it more of a highlighter before concealer lol. I might give it ago since its on sale!!

    Thanks Fleur xox

  11. I bought this a couple of months ago, I love it ! I get really conscious about seeing the dark circles under my eyes and used to put several different concealers on to cover them up which ended up looking cakey! now i just use this and one other and it works perfectly :) x

  15. i love mine, use it everyday, but its still not enough for my dark circles, so I use my mac concealer on top. I've reviewed this as well but haven't sung its praises as much as I should since I use it every day! =D

  17. I haven't seen this around. All I'm seeing is the yellow kind.

  18. I love mine! It's the American version, which is slightly different than the one you have pictured here... It only comes in one shade (that I'm aware of) but still has the same function. If i dont have time to prime my lids and not wearing shadow that day, I blend it all over my eye area for a totally depuffing purpose. Love love love it.

  28. I'm tempted to try this now, at half price it would be rude not too. Although I don't know if will suite my skin tone as I’m a nc45. Drugstore concealers rarely match my skin tone:(
