A fabulous package arrived in the post yesterday from my good friend Allison (otherwise known as Amarixe)
While in New York with her in April, I was complaining about how extortionately expensive my favourite OPI polishes are in the UK. As Allison is a fellow nail polish addict (I love her nail of the day posts on her blog especially - check them out here) she clearly took note and when this bundle of goodies arrived on my doorstep yesterday, I couldn't wait to try them all out!
From left to right: OPI Flashbulb Fuschia, My Private Jet, Ski Teal We Drop, DS Magic, Essie Cute as a Button
I've had my eyes on My Private Jet for a long time so I applied that first and I wasn't disappointed! As I'm sure many of you know, this shade is famous for being Kim Kardashian's favourite. OPI have more recently come under fire for reformulating it to contain less holographic glitter (the old one was more of a classic 'holo' polish) but honestly, I really love how subtle this colour is...
A gorgeous grey-brown shade, the holographic shimmer is very subtle and only shows up when the light hits it. In low light it looks kind of like little white flecks, almost like a starry night sky. Love it!
My second favourite of the bunch is the bright blue-purple shimmer 'DS Magic'. a gorgeous eye catching colour that will be great come summer time.
Flashbulb Fuschia is also a beautiful shade, a bright blue-toned pink with a super subtle silver shimmer... gorgeous! This is exactly the kind of colour that always draws me in - so girly!
The final two shades don't require such close-ups as they don't have shimmer but 'Ski Teal we Drop' is a gorgeous deep teal (funnily enough!) and 'Cute as a Button' (my first ever Essie polish... excited!) is a super pretty light coral - perfect for summer toes!
I absolutely adore OPI polishes (they apply like a dream!) so it's a real treat to have so many new colours without the hefty UK price tag attached. Can't wait to wear my first ever Essie either... thank you Allison!
Oh wow LOVE all of these Nail varnishes! OPI nail varnishes and JESSICA I find are the ones that last for a long time.....but they should do for the money! Still well worth it though.

Georgeous colours. As Stacey's Beauty Blog said, I have to say your nails are in really good condition!
ReplyDeleteI'm having an OPI manicure soon and have no idea what colour to get done!?

They look absolutely amazing!

Love these! If you like Ski Teal We Drop, another one you might like is Cuckoo For This Colour (think it has a slight shimmer).
ReplyDeleteBe careful with the Essie... I've found it actually leaves your nail a little yellow (if you only wear it for 1-2 days this isn't an issue though).
xx
OPI and essie are so expensive here too...
ReplyDeleteLoved OPI Flashbulb Fuschia, My Private Jet, Ski and DS Magic.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my nail polish collection

really amayzing colours :)
ReplyDeleteI live in New Zealand... expensive cosmetics are the bane of my existence! (Not helped at all by my YouTube addiction to watching haul and favourites videos - my bank balance sees a noticeable dip at the start of every month!)
ReplyDeleteI'm saving to travel to the US when I finish uni next year and at this rate my luggage coming home will be full of beauty products from my 'buy overseas because NZ beauty offerings suck' list! This blog has just added five more products to the list. Uh oh...
I so want an American friend too! ;)
ReplyDeleteBut OPI and Essie polishes are crazy expensive in my country as well (Denmark). If you translate the price of just one OPI polish to US dollars it's $24! So insane! Ski Teal We Drop was a color I instantly fell in love with though, so I actually spent that much money on it, but it was worth it :)
the essie polish is so cute! perfect summer color!

ReplyDeleteEmily @ aestheticallyemily.blogspot.com
Those nail polishs are amazing! x
ReplyDeletei just have to comment--your hand in the second pic with a different color on each nail made me have a flashback to season 1 of the show Dexter. I love the show but sometimes it freaks the crap out of me, especially when things in real life remind me of parts of the show!! If you haven't seen it and are intrigued, you MUST check it out.
ReplyDeleteHow funny, I just bought Cute As a Button today at Target today and applied soon as I got home. Am so loving it! My only problem with Essie polishes is that they don't last as long on my as the OPI polishes do.
ReplyDeleteI've just made a little order and got myself Essie Cute as a Button and Topless & Barefoot :D x
ReplyDeleteI really like the pink one. It looks soo pretty!
