There is quite a lot of love going around for Rimmel's 'Wake Me Up' Foundation (Which I must admit, I do really like) but after trying this one out, I think I actually prefer it!
Match perfection is designed to adapt to your skin tone, so that you get a great colour match, and it looks very natural.
It applies very much like your bog-standard liquid foundation, but I really love the finish that it gives: a medium coverage, natural satin-finish. It's not too 'glowy', not too matte. To me it's the perfect middle ground.
The staying power, which I find is often the downfall of cheaper foundations, is pretty good. this lasted about 6 hours on me without need for a touch-up.
1. No Makeup
2. Just Rimmel Match Perfection foundation
3. And the rest!
Overall, I think if you're looking for a really nice drugstore foundation that ticks all the boxes, this might be for you. It's not better than my high end favourites, but it's certainly better than quite a lot of the high end choices out there. I was thoroughly impressed!
Great post Fleur! Love your blog, mentioned you in my new blog post! http://pearlsbeforenelly.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/beauty-vs-brains-tag.html
ReplyDeleteThis looks so nice, really want to try it!:)

Do you know if this is any good for oily skin?
ReplyDeletehttps://allthingsbeautymake-upandshopping.blogspot.com
Fleur you have amazingly good skin!
ReplyDeleteIts 20% of on Asos at the moment so after this post I think it would be rude for me to not get it!x

ReplyDeletethis looks like a great one to try i am a huge fan of the revlon colour stay 24 hour foundation but my bottle is nearly empty, may have to try this one out, thanks for the fab review :D www.thelilywhiteenglishrose.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI love this foundation, it's got a lovely fruity scent also xx
ReplyDeleteI bought this a few months ago and still need to do a blog post on it, but I love it! Like you said it gives a really nice finish!

thanks for the review, I've been contemplating getting this and I think this just made my mind up!
ReplyDeleteI feel like because it's a mid-ground product, it might be overlooked. It's always people wanting something "amazingly glowy" or "amazingly matte" So inbetweeners like this aren't as loved... Poor Rimmel Match perfection :(
ReplyDeleteIs it good for oily skin?? great post x
ReplyDeleteGlitterGirl599.blogspot.co.uk
Ooo, I'll definitely look out for this on my next trip to Boots :) xx

I'm definitely going to try this!xx

Greta review, never heard anything about this, i'm over the dewy look, i need matte matte matte for winter! Although this looks a good middle ground :)

i wonder if this will stay put on oily skin. :/
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued, but I still need to try the Wake me up foundation :) x

ReplyDeleteJust picked it up yesterday after seeing it a lot in the info box of your videos. It was only $3.99 on Ulta.com. :D The only down side is the shade numbers are different than the UK version. I picked True Ivory based on how it looks on you. Hopefully they're the same shade.
ReplyDeleteI should seriously stop reading you're blogs and watching your videos because you make me want to buy EVERYTHING! hahahahaha :) But I can't haha, you're great! <3
ReplyDeleteI've just been converted to the Wake Me Up foundation but I think I might have to give this one a go too, although you look gorgeous without foundation!! :)

Could it last longer if applied with a primer underneath and a setting powder or spray to finish?
ReplyDeleteGreat review, Fleur! I really like the Wake Me Up Foundation, but I think I'll give this one a try! :))
ReplyDeleteXO,

I've been using this foundation for quite some time now and it's still one of my absolute favourites. It gives good coverage without looking cakey and surprisingly, the lightest shade matches my uber-white-winter complexion:) x
ReplyDeleteMight have to give this a try! Thanks for sharing Fleur :)

I have too many foundations at home to justify going out and buying a new one right now, but when I'm in the market I definitely want to give this one a try. I have been using the Rimmel Match Perfection concealer for awhile now and like it lots.
ReplyDeleteI may have to try this out :)

I have this foundation and I really haven't loved it. I find it too be a little too heavy and the scent is a little overpowering. I even mentioned it in my latest youtube video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6Qp5ByH5v8&feature=g-upl
ReplyDeleteJust goes to show that everybody like different things :-)

I actually hated this foundation! It made my products I regret buying video! To each their own though! - PinkGlitter10.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYou should really try the gel-creme formula of this foundation, it's soo nice and feels really cooling and refreshing on the skin:) Perfect for normal/dry skin:)
ReplyDeleteI really want to use foundations but I have super oily skin and everytime I use one, it just looks like a mask or gets cakey after a few hours :/
ReplyDeletehttp://skinstuffbykaty.blogspot.com/
Love that Mike bought you this :) Do you know if it's okay for oily skin too?
ReplyDeletehttp://rebecca-lay.blogspot.com/
I love this foundation! It worked really well for me, too. Glad to see it getting some love :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely giving this a try if they have my shade! :D
ReplyDeleteI like thiss one!
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning as always, will have to try this out! X

It sounds and looks amazing :) xxx
ReplyDeletehttp://jeminixlife.blogspot.com
I've always found Rimmel foundations tend to be too dark for me, even in the palest shade, and I'm not even THAT pale. This looks great on you though :)
ReplyDeleteI am so jeleous of you eye lashes, beautiful!! xo
ReplyDeletehttp://styleitwithme.blogspot.co.uk/
I am always hesitant to buy drugstore foundation, just because what I've used before has been disappointing compared to high end! But I think I'll need to try out these Rimmel foundations, I always trust your opinion Fleur!
ReplyDeletewww.thesartorialscot.blogspot.com
This looks great for the price! xx
ReplyDeletejust-another-day1.blogspot.ca
i am so glad that im not the only one OBSESSED with this foundation! i use it all the time lately and its become my go to foundation! not many bloggers talk about it and i find it to have the best coverage out of most of my drugstore foundations!
ReplyDeleteLooking great! This product looks awesome, and we will definitely give it a try! Do you recommend any other products to use in conjunction with this foundation?
ReplyDeletethey look really great!

ReplyDeleteDefinitely going to check this out! It looks gorgeous

Ohhh will definitely be giving this a go! :)
ReplyDeleteThe finished look is flawless, you look great!! x
ReplyDeleteThis looks great on you!! <3
ReplyDeletethey actually had this like half price in my local savers store but I didn't pick it up as it would have been too light to match :(
megahnnx.blogspot.com
Theres a new version of this one now - they've tried to make it like Wake Me Up by making it a light perfecting radiance with some added gems or something in it. The version I love and you've reviewed isn't available now - maybe in Savers but not in Boots or Superdrug :(
ReplyDeleteBUT the plus side is they've released a boat load of shades - there palest was 100 by now that is now the 3rd or 4th lighest.
Great review. I went to see it after reading your post and I liked the texture of the product, however, I am a bit disappointed because in Canada the packaging does not come with a pump, just a regular lid, what I think is inconvenient and less sanitary.
ReplyDeleteGreat Review! I really want to try it out.
ReplyDeleteIm dying to try this after the Rimmel wake me up!
ReplyDeletewww.amakeupbag.blogspot.co.uk
This looks amazing on you! I have never had the guts to try drug store foundation. Is it significantly better than high end?
ReplyDeleteSahar
Therealsahar.blogspot.co.uk
You really don't need any foundation - your skin looks perfect bare-faced! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a little random, but how do you keep your eyebrows looking in shape. I've only just recently realised mine were on the thin side and I've been growing them out for 8 weeks and this Tuesday I'm off to a brow specialist for sculpting and tinting. Any advice on brow shape, finding your natural arch, product to use to keep them in check etc would be great.
ReplyDeletehttp://alittlesliceof.blogspot.com.au
I went to go buy this after your review and after seeing your video with it, and I love it! It does tend to look a little oily after a couple of hours wear, but it's not bad. Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteI will have to go buy this now!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know of a drugstore foundation that is matte?
sophiesayshi.blogspot.co.uk
I would recommend the stay matte foundation by rimmel london or revlon colourstay for a matte finish.
DeleteI had this foundation for about 2 months and it didn't go down well with me. I looked like I had oily skin a lot of the time and it felt greasy on my skin.
ReplyDeleteI did a blog post over on my blog about this, check mine out!

I love this foundation so much it appears in my January favourites :)
