Review: Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

I've had this foundation for a few weeks now and I after a thorough road-testing, I thought it deserved a full review, as it seems to have been a little overlooked in the blogging world...

There is quite a lot of love going around for Rimmel's 'Wake Me Up' Foundation (Which I must admit, I do really like) but after trying this one out, I think I actually prefer it!

Match perfection is designed to adapt to your skin tone, so that you get a great colour match, and it looks very natural.

It applies very much like your bog-standard liquid foundation, but I really love the finish that it gives: a medium coverage, natural satin-finish. It's not too 'glowy', not too matte. To me it's the perfect middle ground.

The staying power, which I find is often the downfall of cheaper foundations, is pretty good. this lasted about 6 hours on me without need for a touch-up.

1. No Makeup
2. Just Rimmel Match Perfection foundation
3. And the rest!
Overall, I think if you're looking for a really nice drugstore foundation that ticks all the boxes, this might be for you. It's not better than my high end favourites, but it's certainly better than quite a lot of the high end choices out there. I was thoroughly impressed!

  15. I feel like because it's a mid-ground product, it might be overlooked. It's always people wanting something "amazingly glowy" or "amazingly matte" So inbetweeners like this aren't as loved... Poor Rimmel Match perfection :(

  25. Just picked it up yesterday after seeing it a lot in the info box of your videos. It was only $3.99 on Ulta.com. :D The only down side is the shade numbers are different than the UK version. I picked True Ivory based on how it looks on you. Hopefully they're the same shade.

  41. I have too many foundations at home to justify going out and buying a new one right now, but when I'm in the market I definitely want to give this one a try. I have been using the Rimmel Match Perfection concealer for awhile now and like it lots.

  43. I have this foundation and I really haven't loved it. I find it too be a little too heavy and the scent is a little overpowering. I even mentioned it in my latest youtube video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6Qp5ByH5v8&feature=g-upl
Just goes to show that everybody like different things :-)

they actually had this like half price in my local savers store but I didn't pick it up as it would have been too light to match :(

  66. Theres a new version of this one now - they've tried to make it like Wake Me Up by making it a light perfecting radiance with some added gems or something in it. The version I love and you've reviewed isn't available now - maybe in Savers but not in Boots or Superdrug :(

BUT the plus side is they've released a boat load of shades - there palest was 100 by now that is now the 3rd or 4th lighest.

  67. Great review. I went to see it after reading your post and I liked the texture of the product, however, I am a bit disappointed because in Canada the packaging does not come with a pump, just a regular lid, what I think is inconvenient and less sanitary.

  72. This is a little random, but how do you keep your eyebrows looking in shape. I've only just recently realised mine were on the thin side and I've been growing them out for 8 weeks and this Tuesday I'm off to a brow specialist for sculpting and tinting. Any advice on brow shape, finding your natural arch, product to use to keep them in check etc would be great.
