Review: Milani Runway Eyes Palette

I picked up this Milani 'Runway Eyes' palette in 'Designer Browns' from the states a couple of weeks ago and thought I'd share a quick review with you all. I really love the shades in this palette, they seem really pretty and wearable, but with a slight twist on the 'norm' with the pinky-bronze shade, peach tones and pretty shimmer running through each colour.

The packaging is really neat. I loved the look of the raised strips of product at first, but after using it a couple of times it becomes a little bit annoying, as you have to be careful to avoid picking up the next colour when you are using one of the middle shades.
The pigmentation is pretty average. Although you can get decent colour payoff from these shades if you build them up, the staying power is pretty bad. Without a primer these shadows pretty much dissappeared from my eyelids within a few hours.
A couple of people online recommended using them wet for more colour payoff, but to be honest, it didn't make a huge amount of difference when I tried this.

Dry
Wet
Overall this is a pretty palette, but I've definitely been left disappointed. I don't think I'd recommend this over my other drugstore/high street eyeshadow palettes, especially when compared to the likes of Sleek.

You can pick these up from US drugstores for $7.99

  7. It's a shame since the shades are very appealing, but nothing about an eyeshadow will kill it like poor pigmentation. Pity really, it could have been a winner!

  8. The colours look absolutely stunning and if they have good staying power if used with an eyeshadow primer or base then I'd definitely invest if Milani was readily available! XO

  19. I've only ever tried one Milani eyeshadow and was a little disappointed with the color payoff as well. Not sure if I want to try anything else from the brand.

  38. I will probably be seen as an alien but the eyeshadows that disappear from my eyelids within a few hours ( and I do mean few) are the MAC ones. I use too faced shadow insurance right before aplying them, but the truth is that MAC eye shadows for me don't pay off. I must be the only woman in the world with this problem with MAC eyeshadows but it's sadly true.

  62. Hi Fleur,

Thanks for this review, I found it very useful.

After having watched about this product on your youtube channel, I have always wanted to try it out, because the shades of this palette are all so pretty. However, pigmentation and durability of it are my questions. And I don't know if it's sold in UK or not as I want to try it before I purchase to get my questions answered. Now how amazing it is, you have tried and reviewed it for me. I think if anyone wants something similar, but with better quality and packaging, I would recommend them to the Bobbi Brown's 24 Karat Shimmer Brick.

Thanks again. Love your youtube channel a lot.

  63. Love the shades!!! Will be looking out for a similar palette x
