I was very intrigued to hear that the Kardashian sisters were releasing their own makeup line. Their makeup (especially Kim's) is becoming somewhat iconic in the modern beauty world, so I was interested to see what they would come up with for their own line.
The line is currently in somewhat of a 'pre-launch' state, with a few varieties of lashes, four different mascaras, one lip set and the staple of the line, the 'Kardazzle' palettes currently available.
As far as I can tell, they are due to release more products early this year. The current products appear to be available now at Ulta in the US and online via the Khroma Beauty website, but there isn't an abundance of information about these products (or the upcoming additions) out there at the moment.
So what are the products actually like?
I loved the idea of the Kardazzle palettes. They come in three shade varieties (one for each sister's style of makeup) and each contain four matte eyeshadows, four shimmer eyeshadows, two blushes and a highlighter, all packaged in a dinky handbag-sized compact. Baring in mind that these products retail for $12.99, I think they are great little kits. Personally, the colours aren't what I would choose, but there is no denying that they are decent value for money.
Kim's 'Kardazzle' Palette |
Khloe's 'Kardazzle' Palette |
The pigmentation of the eyeshadows is really quite impressive. They are nice and soft, strongly pigmented, and certainly give a lot of other 'drugstore' brands a run for their money.
Kim's eyeshadows |
Khloe's Eyeshadows |
The face powders were pretty impressive too, though I would have liked to have seen more of a solid 'bronzer' colour. I'm not sure if the darker shades are meant to be bronzers, or more natural blushes, but to me they definitely seem to pink/peachy for bronzer.

Kim's face powders |
While I'm not a huge fan of the snakeskin print on the packaging, I think these little palettes are definitely worth a look if you like the shades.
I was less impressed with the nude lip set. This is currently the only lip product available from the line, and while the lip gloss is a nice shade and tastes like honey, I was unimpressed by the dual-ended lip liner/lipstick. The consistency wasn't great (the liner is super sticky) and the shade was a little off for my skin tone, so it just ended up looking really unflattering on me.
All in all, I was impressed by the value for money of these products, but they didn't blow me away shade-wise. I'm sure they will be popular with the hardcore Kardashian fans and sell well off the back of the girls' immaculate makeup. I'd be interested to see what the rest of the line will be like, and I would love to try out the mascaras.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for this brand in the future.
You can buy Khroma makeup from Ulta in the US, and online here.
I like Khloe's 'Kardazzle' palette!

ReplyDeleteYa, I agree. It´s not completely "OMG" material, but sure good value and worth a try!
ReplyDeletehttp://jezzdallasmakeup.blogspot.com/
It'll probably still sell millions because people will think it'll make them look like the Kardashians :P
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the snakeskin packaging either but the products look gorgeous, the colours in Khloe's palette look beautiful, very me! I'm glad to hear the pigmentation is decent too, been wondering what the quality of the shadows is like for a while so happy to see a review on them! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a lovely weekend :) xxx
http://xosarah-loves.blogspot.co.uk/
I like the concept of the kardazzle palettes, but the colors aren't really anything I think I would realistically use all that much.
ReplyDeleteI've seen reviews on this collection which mostly haven't been good reviews saying that they are cheap and not worth the money, but the products seem quite decent from your review.
ReplyDeletePlease follow my blog :)
http://beautyinmywords.blogspot.ie/
I don't really get people saying they aren't worth the money, as these aren't expensive products. Especially in the US where they retail for $12.99 (and are currently buy one get one 50% off!) I think the colours aren't thebest, but in terms of the value for money, I think they are good. Personally the colours aren't up my street but I know a lot of people like shades like these :)
DeleteI think its a nice try, but I think I'll wait for the rest of the makeup line!

khloes palette is actually something i would go for but i have no idea if i can get it where i live.
ReplyDeletexx
I would check them out if there were in poland but i don't think the kardashian sisters are that popular in europe.. maybe i'm wrong.
ReplyDeleteI like the colours in Khloe's palette, not keen on the packaging.
ReplyDeleteconfessionsofablogwriter.blogspot.com xxx
The fact these are from the Kardashians completely puts me off! I think the packaging and name kardazzle is tacky but the actual eye shadows look all right. Great review :) x
ReplyDeletebritishbeautygeek.blogspot.co.uk/
It looks neat, but not my favourite colours either Fleur, I think there is something to be said about marketting when it comes to reality stars, atleast they are "branching out" of sorts, and sharin their beauty styles with the world!
ReplyDeletewww.pocketfullofcosy.blogspot.com
I really wanted to buy these palettes but was really really skeptical just because they haven't done it before. But like you say, don't knock it before you try it. I prefer Kim's eye shadow palette. It's more of what I usually use. I may even purchase it.
ReplyDeletehttp://beautywithnatasha.blogspot.co.uk
Hmm, not a fan of the snakeskin design but Khloe's colours look quite nice :) x
ReplyDeleteThis looks quite interesting to try out. Hope they will come out in Dubai :)

This is one of a few reviews that say good things about the products. The colours from Khloe palette are nice, but the packaging looks cheap. I think that they could've done a better job.
ReplyDeletehttp://sparklewithlaughter.blogspot.com/
Well the palettes look very nice but they are actually nothing new or really special :( Sigh! Well I won't get my hands on them anyway, don't think they will be available in Germany!

I can't decide whether I like the look of these or not. I saw the Fergie range for Wet n Wild yesterday and I think those products look more up my street.

It's so cool to finally see a review of the Khroma line, Fleur! I have to admit I was sceptical about how good the quality would be, but I really like the look of Khloe's eyeshadow pallete. I think this may have to be my next investment make-up wise :D
ReplyDeleterobsarellax.blogspot.com
I prefer Khloe's palette to Kim's because the colours are more wearable and therefore better value for money, but I guess Kim's would be good for nighttime makeup. However, I'm not a Kardashian fan so I can definitely make do with other brands!
ReplyDeleteI'd likely opt for something like Khloe's palette, though I don't like the snakeskin. It's a bit off putting, even if the colours are very nice. fun size beauty
ReplyDeleteMmmm...it looks somewhat....normal?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review!

I agree; I think the snakeskin palette 'cheapens' the products a bit. I love the looks of Khloe's eye-shadow palette so will hopefully try it out at some point! xo

to be honest they don't really look like anything special. I think they could of probably put a lot more time and effort into the packaging as well
ReplyDeletexjoedix.blogspot.co.uk
Khloe's eyeshadows actually look really tempting! I don't know why I'm so surprised, the Kardashians always have flawless make up. Their range at Dorothy Perkins was 'surprisingly' nice too!
ReplyDeleteabi-girl.blogspot.co.uk
You can't beat Kim's smoky eyes that she always sports on the red carpet! I really like Khloe's style and make up the most these days. She looks like a diva, but with subtle tones!

looks nice! :) x
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the packaging, but the colors do seem very nicely pigmented! Khloe's palette appeals to me more than Kim's though. Maybe because the colors of her palette look nicer together?
ReplyDeleteKhloe's palette looks lovely!! Do you not have Kourtney's palette Fleur? I'd love to see it.

I thought these would be gimmicky and tacky but it seems they've done a pretty good job with them. I absolutely adore the look of the lip colours as well :)

I really love the brown shades and the look of the cosmetics :)
ReplyDeletehttp://blog.iamakingart.com/
I love khlies eyeshadows and kims blush set thy look so pretty and pigmented!:)
ReplyDeletelaurenlovesmakeupxoxo.blogspot.co.uk
I personally tried the eyeliner and eyelashes. I was very impressed with the eyelashes, I had to trim them so they would fit my eyes but other than that I quite liked it. Now the eyeliner was bad, really bad. The consistency was horrible, you barely get any color payoff (I used it on my water line) & it rubbed off very quickly. I don't think I will try out any other make up from them. I've heard very mix reviews from the eyeshadows and not many good from the lips products.
ReplyDeleteKhloe a kardazzle palette appeals to me the most. Although I really do like Kim's blushers & highlight.
ReplyDeleteShame we can't pick and choose!
Really good value for money. I hav a million other neutral palettes so I don't think it will be something I'll buy.
Thanks for sharing :) xx

The colours are okay but the packaging looks abit cheapy?
ReplyDeleteThe packaging does look cheap, but I like the colours! Dont think Id pick it up for myself though, maybe as a gift for someone else, I think its a bit hypocritical though that the kardashians have a beauty range out yet continue to use MAC products haha

Looks nice! I really like the colours in the Second palette!
ReplyDeleteI like Khloe's palette better. Greetings from Poland Fleur:)
ReplyDeleteThe colours featured in Khloe's palette actually remind me a lot of the Clarins Odyssey palette!
ReplyDeleteI was expecting this line to be absolute Krap (haha, sorry), but I'm actually pleasantly surprised. I like the face powders from both palettes, and the pigmentation is better than I expected. Still don't think I'll buy any of it though, the packaging puts me right off.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.onmynailstoday.blogspot.co.uk/
The products look really nice, but to be honest, I didnt even know that they made makeup too...but then again, what dont they sell! Maybe its just because the products are not available in Australia!

Khloe's palette is definitely shades I would wear everyday!
ReplyDeletei'm impressed with the pigmentation!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Kardashians and have a crazy obesession with them. I desperately want to try some of their make up, I wish it was available in the UK :(
ReplyDeletexoxoxox
I'm not a fan of the Kardashians, but this makeup looks pretty good. Might be something to give a try if I come across it.
ReplyDeleteI really like the look of the Khloe palette. Those would be the shades I get more use out of. Unfortunately with trying to downsize my makeup collection this year I dont need to add yet another neutrals palette to my selection!

Khloe's palette is amazing!
ReplyDeleteHttp://styleloveandsushi.blogspot.com
I knew the Kardashian's were bringing out a range, but I didn't realise it was so soon! Kim's palette is bit bland for me, it's the kind of thing I had when I started wearing make-up! Khloe's palette has nice colours but it's very close to the Urban Decay Naked palette which I already have! I'm intrigued to see what Kourtney's colours will be like! I hope the full collection has little more kick to it!

ReplyDeleteI'm a secret Kardashian fan and Khloe is the best on the show and in the palette's in my opinion :') <3
ReplyDeleteI actually quite like the look of khloe's one (I'm all for my neutrals). thanks for doing this...never would have known about it otherwise!
ReplyDeleteXx
This is a great post Fleur! Great review, detailed aspects of each product. I think this line will be missable for me, especially not being a Kardashian fan, but like you said, it'll probably sell very well, even if its quality is mediocre.
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to get their make-up line but I live in Asia and I don't think they have it here yet. Do they have it in Sephora though? Um, anyway, I like Khloe's eyeshadow palette. I am a huge fan of neutral shades. However, I am a big hoarder when it comes to lip products and I'm a little bit disappointed by the fact that they don't have that many lip products out just yet.
ReplyDelete{negativetone.blogspot.com}

ReplyDeleteArgh, I can't get enough of shimmery nudes and brown tones! Actually, I really love the colours in the other palette for a bold, smokey eye. I would never consider buying a Kardashian product, just because I'm not particularly big fans of their's, but these actually look really nice. x
