Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution

If you follow a few beauty blogs, you've probably seen a couple posts about the latest addition to Charlotte Tilbury's swoon-worthy makeup line already. These lipsticks have been talk of the town for the past few weeks. In case they haven't already made it onto your Pre-Christmas wish list, or into your handbag, here are my thoughts on the new 'Matte Revolution' line.
As usual with Charlotte's line, you can't fault the stunning rose gold 1920's inspired packaging. The shape of the bullet is squared, which I adore and they have a delicious sweet vanilla scent to them...

Left Row, Front to Back: Walk of Shame, Red Carpet Red, Birkin Brown, Lost Cherry, Sexy Sienna
Right Row, Front to Back: Glaston-Berry, Love Liberty,  Bond Girl, Very Victoria
What I really like about them though, is the finish. I'm not normally a huge matte fan. I find a lot of them quite drying, heavy and uncomfortable to wear. Out of all the velvet formulas I've tried, this is my favourite. It's soft, creamy, light and not too matte (it still has that hint of moisture to it that makes it both easy to apply, flattering and comfortable to wear all day.) It's not drying and the pigmentation is lovely. Because of this, the staying power isn't ahh-mazing, but I'm ok with topping up my lipstick a couple of times throughout the day, so that didn't bother me at all. I think these lippies are the perfect balance between comfortable and convenient.

There are 10 shades, that tend to err on the side of dark. My two favourites are Amazing Graze and Love Liberty (as shown L-R below)
The one downside is the price tag. At £23 they are expensive (as is all of Charlotte's line) but these are up there with the best of the high-end offerings.

I couldn't bring myself to swatch all of the lovely shades I was given, as I knew I couldn't possibly get through them all, so I decided to give some away to you lovely people. If you'd like to win 1 of 4 shades in Glaston-Berry, Red Carpet Red, Birkin Brown or Walk of Shame, all you have to do is head over to Twitter, and let me know which colour you'd like to win using the hashtag #FDFLipstick - The shades are listed above for reference. Open internationally. Closes Tuesday October 7th at Midnight GMT. Winners will be announced on Twitter

  25. I am always so upset that Lithuania doesn't carry this line (not surprising, since we're tiny, but still a bummer)

As a lipstick addict, I am always lusting after Charlotte Tilbury's line...

  28. They look gorgeous! I love a matte lip but do find them a bit drying so think I might pop one of these on my Christmas list. I was actually expecting them to be more expensive.. around the Tom Ford kind of price tag, so £23 seems pretty reasonable to me! x

  32. Some of the darker shades have sort of a similar look to them, but those brighter shades towards the back (especially the 2nd to the last one on the left side) look super pretty and fun.

  36. What stunning shades, and the packaging is just gorgeous. I'd really love to check these out but the price tag is a bit excessive! I think they seem like better value for money than the YSL lippies though. x
