While doing a little online makeup shopping this week, my eye was instantly drawn to the gorgeous ad campaign for Elie Saab's brand new debut fragrance. The lebanese designer (whose gowns I simply adore!) has branched out into the world of fragrance and I almost made an impulse buy based on the gorgeous bottle alone.
I refrained due to some very varied opinions about the fragrance itself on Twitter, but when I was shopping with friends this week, I made a beeline for the perfume hall and hunted a bottle down to try in person... and loved it.
I bought the 30ml edition, not so much because it was the cheapest option, but also because I loved the super cute dimensions of the bottle: a sophisticated chunk of multi-facted glass that comes packaged in a gorgeous nude box.
The fragrance is really unique in my opinion. It's very sweet but not fruity. It's ultra feminine and a great choice for daytime wear. It opens with orange blossom and dries down to reveal a heart of jasmine and base notes of cedar, patchouli and honey rose accord. Wearing it makes me feel light hearted and feminine and I absolutely love it.

This is one for you if you like sweet perfumes, but fancy something a little different. It's distinctive and sugary without being branded either fruity or floral... Delicious!
Elie Saab Le Parfum is available online and in stores now, prices start at £38 for 30ml.
Sounds gorgeous! Will definatly be needing to smell this!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I saw this in boots yesterday and saw that you get a free body lotion and a bottle of something else when you purchase the perfume. You missed out doll xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat sounds yummy and the bottle is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThis looks lovely, the bottle is amazing, really want to try this now :) x
ReplyDeleteThis sounds lovely, I'll have to hunt it down. All of my perfumes seem to be of the 'fruity' variety so it'll be nice to try something a little different :)

Did you get your Burberry Body sample yet? I received mine in the mail a couple days ago- a generous, 4.5 ml size. Sadly, I did not love it as much as some of their others. To me it smells like something people wore in junior high to try and feel grown up. Burberry's original scent (the amber coloured perfume in the pebble bottle) is one of my all-time favourite perfumes, and I really, really wanted to like this one, but it's just not me. Would love to hear your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteEllie Saab is a gorgeously made scent. Again, not me, but glad you like it!
I'm getting mine on Monday, it's an amazing fragrance and quite different from all the other scents I normally like.
ReplyDeletei really want to try this, next time im in a perfume hall i will try it :D

ReplyDeleteThat little bottle is just GORGEOUS! It must look SO pretty on a dresser, like a little piece of jewelry! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit of a perfume junkie and I just did a little overview of the different types of perfume (eau de parfum, eau de toilette, etc.) on my brand-new blog (so excited!) if any of you girls are interested!
Lovely post as always Fleur! I always enjoy your reviews and opinions on products.
Love,
Nina.
