Step into the Whimsical World of Chanel…

Today I was lucky enough to be invited to an exclusive preview of the ‘Chanel at Harrods’ extravaganza that opens to the public tomorrow.

Chanel are the first brand to ever host such a ‘takeover’ at the super luxury department store.

Not only have they designed special window displays featuring Karl Lagerfeld’s most recent ready-to-wear collection, they have also created limited edition beauty and accessory collections, available while stocks last from the two pop-up boutique installations on the ground floor.

First off… The beauty!

The limited edition ‘Knightsbridge’ makeup collection consists of three limited edition lipsticks, one gloss and a blusher. All have names inspired by Harrods and the surrounding area.

The three limited edition Rouge Allure Luminous Satin lipsticks (£24 each):

From top: Hyde Park, Belgravia, Kensington

Hyde Park is a pinky coral hue, Belgravia is a medium pink with gold and silver facets and Kensington a glossy fuchsia shade.

The limited edition glossimer lipgloss in Chelsea (£20) is equally as eyecatching.

Sadly, the pigmentation is very sheer so it only gives a hint of that fluro fuchsia!

Last but certainly not least (it is the real diamond of the collection in my book) is the Poudre Tissee in Brompton Road (£46).

This stunning compact bears the iconic double C logo in quilted effect light pink and iridescent powder. It’s halfway in between a highlighter and a blush, looking pale pink and shimmery on the skin.

It has a glittery sprayover that looks stunning when you first open it but disappears after a couple of uses (probably for the best as less shimmer is always more flattering on the cheeks in my opinion!)

The collection is available now, exclusively from Harrods (and online at www.Harrods.com) while stocks last.

And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better…

After feasting my eyes on these beauties, we were then given an exclusive preview of Chanel’s ‘Une Promenade’. A mind-blowing installation of everything Chanel, that is open to the public for three weeks starting tomorrow (6th September 2011), housed on the 3rd floor.

The collection of rooms centre around a stunning indoor garden, designed with the glamorous S/S11 runway show in mind.

The surrounding rooms contain everything from fine jewellery…To Chanel-clad Harrods bears…

Stunning Chanel couture…

And more couture…And some more…

My dream package…

Even Chanel gardening tools!

The otherworldly installation also houses a single room dedicated to the creation of the iconic 2.55 bag.

Lined with quilted leather and chains, the wall of monitors
show you every step of the manufacturing process.

And the best thing of all? The giant sculpture of the 2.55 itself!

This installation is truly magical. It feels like an adventure into the world of Chanel and is totally free to explore, so if you’re in the area I thoroughly recommend popping in for a peek!

I didn’t get the chance to pick up one of those gorgeous blushers so may have to pop back… What do you think girls?
