I have to admit, I’m rather fickle when it
comes to perfumes. I currently have about 15 bottles on the go and switch
daily. I do tend to have a ‘type’ though… fruity, sweet and sometimes
embarrassingly unsophisticated. Which is why the fragrance I want to tell you
about today really took me by surprise.
It’s Carven’s new ‘Le Parfum’. It’s a clean-cut
scent, in a clean-cut bottle, from an uber-sophisticated brand. It’s everything
I normally don’t like in a fragrance: floral, fresh, even slightly soapy… but
surprisingly…
I love it.
It’s one of those scents that you can’t
stop smelling when you’re wearing it. Feminine and ethereal are words that come
into mind when thinking about this scent.
The almost exclusively floral notes of
mandarin blossom, white hyacinth, apricot, sweet pea, jasmine, ylang-ylang,
patchouli, sandalwood and osmanthus somehow combine to create a totally
non-sickly scent that is utterly sophisticated yet instantly likeable. It’s a
close contender for my wedding fragrance.
Carven’s ‘Le Parfum’ is available now,
exclusively from Harrods and Harrods.com, and nationwide from 5th
June. Prices start at £38 for 30ml Eau de Parfum.
Have any of you smelt this already?
Thoughts?
I love the look of the perfume and will have to give it a smell. I too usually go for sweet fruity scents but am trying to expand my collection!

Ooh that sounds like a perfume that fits right in my alley! I love mandarin, sandalwood and fresh scents :) You should try Jill Sander's 'Style' sometime, it's so delicious! Used to switch perfumes just like you, not since I own 'Style'. Smells.so.freaking.good. Totally obsessed!

The packaging does look very sophisticated. I've not had a sniff of it though and Harrods is a bit of a trek for me! If I happen to be in London any time in the near future though, I will definitely go and have a look!

I love perfumes and I don't think we can ever have enough. I've never been one scent type of girl although I think that's also cute because people think of you when they smell it elsewhere.

Try to find it somewhere near me...maybe in summer, when I will be more "in-Europe" lol :) Will definitely check it out, thanx))
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely! I too have rather immature taste in perfumes (think candy), so I'd be interested to give this a sniff. I've been loving the sunshine limited addition lola by marc jacobs actually... though it's only SLIGHTLY more sophisticated than my norm. :P

I love the packaging, it's gorgeous! Not sure about the scent though, doesn't sound like my kind of fragrance as I love fresh/fruity ones. I'd have to smell it in person to see if I liked it.

ReplyDeleteSince you seem to have the same taste in perfume as me, when I picked up a new perfume (eau de toilette actually)today in Debenhams I had to tell you! It's a new range(to me, at least) by Ted Baker called Sweet Treats and they all had girls names, I picked up one called Polly which was lovely and sweet, reminded me of Ralph Lauren 'Hot' which I used to love before it was discontinued. There were a few other ones too, one called Vida which I really liked too which was a bit more fruity. Cute packaging too!
ReplyDeleteJust thought I'd let you know in case you hadn't come across them! Love the blog and vlogs :) xx
Ooh I have to try this! The bottle is lovely and I adore floral scents xx

This sounds beautiful, looks beautiful and since I am down to the last drops of perfume in my collection (I've forced myself to use it all up before buying new ones) I might as well give this a go, since I love every single one of the other scents you like. :)
