I was really intrigued when this little
tube shot through my letterbox this week. I absolutely hated Maybelline’s ‘ The
Eraser’ foundation (greasy and awkard to apply!) but I do however, adore their
other concealers, especially the Dream Lumi Touch one (fabulous for under eye
circles. If you haven’t tried it, I would highly recommend that you do!)
So needless to say I was interested to see
what this would be like...
I really like the packaging. It looks like
a dinky little version of the foundation, and feels solid and nice quality. It
took about 100 clicks to get the product going as usual with these types of
thing… but after it got flowing the level of product it releases with each click
seems good.
As for the applicator...
I know I won’t be alone in detesting it at first sight due to the hygiene aspect (or lack of it!) That aside, it does actually work quite nicely for the undereye area (unlike the foundation version).
I know I won’t be alone in detesting it at first sight due to the hygiene aspect (or lack of it!) That aside, it does actually work quite nicely for the undereye area (unlike the foundation version).
The consistency is incredibly light, it
almost feels like nothing is on the skin, yet the coverage is pretty decent. I
definitely noticed a brightening effect too. It does tend to sit on the skin a
little though, so I would recommend blending it in gently with your ring finger
for a more even finish.
Wear time was pretty average (I usually re-apply
my concealer a couple of times throughout the day regardless of the brand I’m
using).
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by
this. Compared to the foundation version, it’s a complete gem. Compared to the
Dream Lumi Touch concealer however… it’s not as good, and a pound more
expensive! So if you are tempted by a Maybelline concealer, I would definitely
recommend that one over this. If you are always on the go and want something
that applies quickly and covers evenly while feeling ultra light-weight on the
skin, then this may be the one for you.
You can pick up Maybelline’s ‘The Eraser’
Perfect & Cover concealer now (although I think it’s a little hard to find at
the moment, it is available in some stores but I imagine in a few weeks time it will be
everywhere!) priced at £7.99.
Looks like a good product think this is something I would definetly try

I love this concealer! I think it performs better than most drugstore under eye concealers!
ReplyDeleteI have this product as well, I find the product goes down really fast but hardly any comes out!

Could you do a review of the YSL Eyeliner Effect Cils Shocking - Bold Felt-Tip Eyeliner Pen? It's quite expensive, and I'd love to get your opinion on it before I decide to purchase it or not! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI think the product itself must be great, but I don't like the fact that it has a kind of sponge on the top. I think it's just a little less hygienic than a concealer with a pump! Great post!

I have been thinking of trying this or a while
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I hate applicators like this. It's a shame that it is a lovely product that you cannot use with out the unhygienic nib :(
ReplyDeleteLove Em, from www.dollhousebeautyblog.blogspot.co.uk
You can always just pop the sponge off. That makes it more hygienic and dispenses less product meaning it will last longer.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little put off by the sponge, but the product itself seems great and I need a new concealer! x
ReplyDeleteHaven't tried the maybeline lumi touch concealer but have tried the collection one which is exactly the same! And it is really good for under your eyes! xx
ReplyDeleteHttp://Hannah-groves-way.blogspot.co.uk
I remember seeing this on American YouTube channels and everyone raving about it, might have to give it a look :)
ReplyDeleteThe sponge is actually antimicrobial, so although it seems not unhygienic it is safe. I also love the concealer but hated the foundation form of this product.
ReplyDeleteI prefer a separate corrector and concealer for my undereye area as I have pretty bad dark circles but this looks decent for drugstore xx
ReplyDeleteIn Canada, there is a neutralizer in the same format that you put on before the actual concealer. Together they work like a charm. My dark circles are the same colour as the Colour Tattoo in Bronze (Bad to the Bronze), so very dark, and with both products, I have a bright, light under eye area.
DeleteThe neutralizer might be called differently in the UK, though.
I just blogged about this concealer the other day as well... I agree with you, it does a decent job but there are better concealers out there! Great post Fleur! :)

I hate these sorts of applicators! I might check this out though as in the market for a new concealer!! :D xx

Sounds like a nice product but I don't think I'll be trying it! The sponge applicator just seems too unhygenic for me, plus I love my Collection 2000 one too much :) xx
ReplyDeletebelle-amiebeauty.blogspot.co.uk
had wondered about this one. obvs the hygene part is something that annoys me with this but it does seem to be a great product so I might just have to try. xx. gigi. food and beauty blogger @ www.gigikkitchen.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteLooks like a pretty good product, although with concealers I like them to be really heavy duty! x

ReplyDeletewww.lornasfabulousfashion.blogspot.co.uk
Sounds like a decent enough product great post x
ReplyDeletealittlebitsunshine.blogspot.co.uk
I like this one for my under eye circles - I use the brightening color and it works wonderfully. I've also tried the dream lumi touch, and it works well, but isn't as good at covering my circles. Also, the age rewind concealer has 4X the amount of product as compared with the dream lumi touch. So that's something to consider if you're on a budget like me.
ReplyDeleteI actually love this for my under eyes. It's really light, not cakey and brightening. Love it~!
ReplyDeletewww.yesylovely.blogspot.com
this looks pretty interesting I've never tried any concealer from Maybelline before-
ReplyDeletewww.hannahstuffandthat.blogspot.com

Fleur! Peel back the sticky label on the packaging ! It tells you not to get the sponge wet cause its got antibacterial self cleaning properties so you shouldn't worry :)

Good to know!!!
DeleteMaddy @ WWW.BEAUTYBANTERBLOG.COM
this is one product that I have tried when it first came out with that packaging and I think I got a defected one just because it was extremely watery so of course I threw it away. Now I'm reconsidering to give it another go because this is one product I hear a lot of beauty gurus talk about. This post is amazing thank you so much for this.

ReplyDeleteI recently bought this from Superdrug and I cannot wait to try it, all the US bloggers have been raving about it x

I will definitely need to use this. If I don't sleep well, I get bad circles under my eyes, it's horrible!
ReplyDeletehttp://tayloramartin.blogspot.com/
I tried this before! The sponge may not be the best thing to be reused over and over, but I remembered that I received an extra sponge, just incase the sponge gave way~
ReplyDeleteAnyway this blends in easier using a finger or a blending brush.
http://thesnowflowerrr.blogspot.com/
I've seen this at the store forever now but I haven't been able to get myself to try it out.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the sponge but it does have decent coverage and staying power, definitely worth a try at such a reasonable price. I did find mine a bit pink though, even though I have pink undertones in my skin, did anyone else think this? xx

This looks quite nice, not something I will be rushing out to buy though! xxx

I think this would be gross if being used on spots but I guess, as long as your face is clean when you apply makeup then and its only under your eyes its not too bad... I'd definitely try giving it a wipe though! The coverage for this looks really good and I believe it actually has skincare ingredients in to make a difference as well as cover. Definitely something I'd give a try anyway xx

I use this concealer a lot and I really love it! <3 Brightens up + great durability!
ReplyDeleteAs for the applicator: I removed the sponge because I think it soaks up a lot of product every time I use it (what a waste!). Now I apply it with my fingers and it works just as well as with the sponge. Still very impressed with this product! xx
This looks great! I always feel like I'm too young to try these kind of 'age rewinding' products, but this does look really good, inexpensive too :) ♥

Sounds interesting for me but I don`t like an idea of sponge. Seems a little bit unhigienic. I like keeping my make up and brushes always clean and this one has no way to clean it. Nevertheless, the texture looks very nice on your skin. Maybe worth to try:)

This will only work for those who don't have dark circles like myself. It does not cover that much and turn your dark circles grey, so a corrector have to go underneath it.

ReplyDeletesilverpassionista.blogspot.com
I actually much prefer this to the Dream Lumi Touch concealer! I found the DLT so yellow. Usually I can blend yellow but that was horrendous, and it just didn't blend out for me very well. This is much lighter, both in colour and consistency and I like it so much more! X
ReplyDeleteDo you think that this would be nice for younger age? Anyway which maybelline concealer do you prefer?

I love this concealer. I just got a second tube of it. My first lasted from May-August. :)
ReplyDeleteThere are many supplements available to outline that under eye circle concealer, except for utterly each are developed equal. In order to produce the Most desirable Programs catalog, a strong brow maker should certainly.
